Bitter Sweet Symphony

I heard this song the other day and it reminded me of the trouble it caused and how greedy people can be.

BitterSweet Symphony is such a great song, it is such a shame that ABKO lawyers are so powerful that they shut out the Verve from any royalties. I mean 100% Jagger/Richard composition, please. Mick and Keef could never write a song like that.

Only Led Zeppelin can blatantly steal songs and put their name on it. Verve should have known that.

The Verve track is right up there with "Ice Ice Baby" and Puff Daddy blathering over "Every Breath You Take." Honestly, I don't get it. Taking someone else's record and recording over it and claiming you wrote a song -- gimme a break!

On the other hand whoever did the original arrangement of this version of "The Last Time" deserves major credit - -very original and could be another song. And became a huge hit decades later! I had heard this song here and there but never did the math till now -- thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Hey Swiss IORR should get lawyers as good as ABKO and enforce a copyright infringement against threads which copy existing threads! Uh, like this one . . .
LOL!!

Deadegad, your post made me smile.

It took me over a year to understand how to use SEARCH on this site---to set the date to Any Time---and in the beginning would simply SEARCH and didn't realize it was only searching back 30 days. So 2 things would happen: (1) I'd post a thread on an already occurring topic and (2) I'd miss all the great discussions that'd happened on a topic in the past -- unless someone (like with sssoul or Honestman or someone) would post links to the past convos.

So I'm kinda returning that favor they did me smiling smiley

I experienced the same 'trial and error' with the search button, and am happy to make people smile.

swiss, I am really glad and honored that you quoted my thread "The Verve vs the Rolling Stones " TRULY BITTERSWEET" "

"TRULY BITTERSWEET " is a nice "nickname", isn't it?
.Truth is that ,everytime /anytime I want to post what seems to me an unknowned subject on iorr ,I click on the "search " button

But as deadagad wrote,it ain't that easy to deal with the "search button"
swiss, I had no idea that 6 threads went on this subject before mine smiling smiley

Funny thing - The Last Time is not an original Stones song but "copied" from The Staple Singers - This May be the Last Time , Keith himself has said so.

Obviously they'd write something far better.
The best thing about Bitter Sweet Symphony is its video.

That's why they did it.
