Any hope for European leg of this tour?
Posted by: gaigai ()

Hi,

does anybody know anything about this? I live in Budapest, so I can travel to Vienna, Prague, Zagreb if they don't come to Hungary, but can't afford London (no time, no money, no tickets).

Is there any chance they come to Mid-Europe this year?

<<< Any hope for European leg of this tour ? >>>

That's a key question.

Personally, I'd think anything is possible after 13th July.

A - that they never perform again

B - that they do, but they probably might choose to reflect on ticket prices before they embark on it

C - o wait, there isn't a C

[ I want to shout, but I can hardly speak ]

B...promotors just won't pay them that much anymore...they'll start counting from ticketprices downward.

Promoters wont? What about the true fans? We wont either...

I think they really haven't decided this yet themselves, the key question is
if the spirit inside the band will remain very strong and positive,
if it's fun to play and not any health issues will occur (how about Ronnie injuring his hand a little bit and mick t. would come to his place??? Just joking...)they will play in the biggest European cities, maybe 2 concerts in Paris, 2 in Barcelona and so on...

I think the ticket prices are really a secondary question to them, as long as it will be an economically sensible deal with promoters.

I think that also Australia is very possible because Mick loves to perform there.

If they will play more in Europe I guess it will be in Germany, Spain or France. After a second leg late summer in the rest of USA I guess Japan is the favorite to get a Stones visit.

if they are willing to keep on touring, there are places that in my opinion they cannot skip and that deserve a last "visit".
amsterdam, paris, 1-2 german towns and scandinavia deserve some gigs, for the love they always had for the stones.
i am italian but i think that italy , spain etc etc are not on the same "club".
same, tokyo deserves a gig, and buenos aires too.
these should be the places they cannot skip, honestly.
if they add some more places i would obviousely be more than happy..

The "problem" with Europe is no one will pay 450 Euros to see the boys in an arena.

In 2003 we paid 95€ for a gig in such a closed-roof venue so with inflation they can sell them at 150 but not much more.

150x20000 = 3 000 000 € (gross).

Will that be enough for Mick? >grinning smiley<

I will pay E 400 if they play at the Ziggodome amsterdam!! and even for a second show.

Come on Jagger, .

Shhhh... imagine what'll happen if Mick reads this.

"Okay guys I have a hunch ppl in Europe are ready to cough out 400€ per ticket, so... we'll charge them 600! Deal?"

And they end up with another ticket debacle!

hahahaha,
i shall buy a 85 euro ticket then.

Since the Stones aren't playing stadiums on this tour how many arena's are there in Europe that they could play? I've heard they will play Europe, Australia and Japan later this year...no more shows in the U.S.

True, apart from in London.... not only because of the Londoners, but because that's a natural meeting point for the few Europeans willing to spend that much.

I paid €500 (twice) for the London shows because I thought it was exclusive and the last time I could see them live.

It proved not to be, although I still don't regret paying so much.

I also saw them at their last London show in 2007, as well as their "last" outdoor show, in Slane, but I think the price was "only" 150 euro or something....I went for the cheap alternative

I think the fear for the economic crisis in Europe is exaggerated.
I'm sure there's no problem at all to find ticket buyers in most parts of the continent.
