This material was sourced from a workprint and has its fair share of spots and scratches, and sections of black leader between shots. Onstage, we see three numbers from Madison Square Garden cut from the film: "Little Queenie", "Oh Carol" and "Prodigal Son". This footage has an unusual sound format: 1.1 mono, that is centre speaker and subwoofer only.

this is the Criterion release....which was a great upgrade.
There is now a Warner Bros release on the 21st this month with more (??) MSG outtakes...
This was told from the recent Mojo magazine review...however there has been one person on this board which believes his pre-sale version does not contain extra-extras !!?

I would like to know for sure if we get:
Sympathy For The Devil
Live With Me
Stray Cat Blues
...with this Warner Bros release?

Apart from the Mojo review there is little else on the web which details the "extras" on the DVD.

And yes the extras are MSG

yep....these are on the latest release (21st sept) plus (bloody hope) the others mentioned above.

I bought it through amazon.co.uk, who must have posted it out assuming it would arrive at mine on Monday (release day).

They didn't reckon with the awesome delivery skills of the Royal Mail.

sh!t...well at least I can return my DVD un-opened for a refund !

I honestly think the Mojo guy reviewed the film without actually having a copy of the Warners dvd,and just assumed the extra tracks were on there as they were mentioned in an original press release.

It's very frustrating but not in the least bit surprising unfortunately

I have this on order from Amazon. Dissappointed but I'm sure a new release next year will have the 3 extra songs and then the rest of the songs on the 2011 release which will obviously lack the 2012 extras. DVD can be a bit of a ripoff at times. I should have waited but as I don't have the Criterion version I ordered anyway. If it comes out again I'll probably download it off a torrent site!

Criterion blu-ay is released in USA on 12-1-09

Don't mean to nitpick but it's for those who insist on referring to Chuck Berry's song "Carol" as "Oh Carol"- Neil Sedaka wrote "Oh Carol" and its an entirely different song!
