Introduction

These pages will supply information about the cities the Stones will be visiting this summer. To read about each individual city please select the actual city link in the IORR travel guide pages. If you have information for these pages please send e-mail to [email protected].

Nearest big city

Alicante - 40 km away
Valencia - 130 km north

How to get to the city

The easiest way is to go by bus from Alicante or Valencia. If you get by plane, you have to get into the city (either by taxi or with the C6 bus) and ask for the Bus station (estacion de autobuses) to get the buses for Benidorm. The company that drives you to Benidorm is UBESA/ALSA.

From Alicante there is also a small train that stops right at the Foietes stadium back, that's the Benidorm main stop. This train is called "El Trenet" and you have to go into Alicante as well.

Or if you're planning to rent a car, then you have to look for the highway A7 and from Valencia head towards Alicante, and from Alicante head towards Valencia. And then you should go out at number 65, which is marked with "Benidorm - Levante".

Anyway, I found this web page that's really good explaining, it's a real estate agency, but the explanation is good: www.gestaltur.com.

Recommended hotels

I think it's going to be a bit difficuld at this moment, already. But this link can help too (i hope!!): The Benidorm Guide.

Recommended bars/restaurants

My friend, at the time The Stones are coming... any place is recommended!! It's going to be in August, isn't it?? So, Benidorm is FULL with tourists. So you better make your bookings right now, or ou won't find a place to sleep (if you're really going to), and it's not allowed to spend the night on the beach! but you can spend the day "sunbading"...

But if you really want to go pubing, the best area is the beginning of Levante Beach (close to the old town), from (say) 1am till 4 am and then to the main road area, the one that takes you to Valencia, "Nacional 332", there's lots of discos there. There's also a "well known" British area, with all British pubs in it, in the area of "Rincon de Loix".

Benidorm Map

If you click on the blue letters that say "centro nuevo", you will see on top of it a football stadium, and really close to it at its right something that says "estacion ffcc". That's what I previously meant by the train station. Close, eh?

Then, to see the bus station (which is not marked on this map) you have to click on "Playa de Levante", and you have to look for "Avenida de Europa" which goes sort of vertical and find the cross with "Calle Gerona", and there is the bus stop located.

Tourist links

Valencia 24/7 : This site claim they have a story about Keith Richards and Anita Pallenberg's romance in Valencia 1967!
