They should have included The Storm, had less tracks and it would have been a total classic. I have some fond memories of Voodoo Lounge as it ties in with the one and only time I went to one of their gigs, but ultimately I found both the record and concert disappointing for some reason.

That 64 footage always makes me wonder whether Brian was eased of vocal duties in a subtle way or if he was straight up asked to stop singing.

I think I've managed to identify a bass Bill used during late 1968... ITV Studio One Television facilities, Wembley, London, England - 29th November 1968 - courtesy of Daily Mirror Archives Londonderry Hotel, London, England - 8th/9th December 1968 - no photographer credits given ... I've mistakenly believed it was a Rickenbacker, but it appears that Ri

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 What an odd clip. That has got to be an edit of the actual performance from the show. Keith on Tambourine, Brian miming Nicky's parts, and Bill on a Rickenbacker ...guitar (I think). He also played that bass at the rehearsals for the Rock and Roll Circus. More info on that bass can be found here:

Quotescaffer BTW, I bought this magazine when I was a kid in '69, scarce realizing that I myself would end up seeing the Stones on that tour! So obviously I LOVE this thread! The 69 tour magazine!? It wasn't out till 1970.

Those 2 ep's seem to be very suspect. Comes across more as someone messing about with sound effects and making their own rarity for gullible record collectors to buy.

What is it with 60's rock stars and dirty long fingernails!? Yuk! Clapton, Jagger, Lennon all seemed to have minging dirty fingernails a lot of the time.

Quotestraycat58 This is like classical music, sophisticated, must be listened with attention, not at the juke box of the pub. Hmm, thats a bit eavy man... I see it more as a piece of experimental fun, something to have on whilst you smoke a joint, sit back and lose yourself in the music. I don't smoke though so I tend to just sit back and get lost in the music without the join

Quoteskipstone My EP version of TSMR is much better and more in line with your version with the exception of some of the shiners ha ha ha... We Love You Dandelion Citadel 2000 Man She´s A Rainbow 2000 Light Years From Home Now that's one hell of an EP. Ay tis, but ep's are a pain in the ass when you're tripping.

It appears Child of the Moon wasn't finished in 67, so including it is a bit iffy yah know!? Opening the album with We Love You and then having Citadel come slamming in right after would make for a powerful album introduction. First impressions last, so tis good to whack folks over the head with some solid opening tracks.

Yup, that's definitely Brian playing his electric Dulcimer aka Vox Bijou.

QuoteDiamondDog7 Long time ago I've found a site only about Their Satanic Majesties Request. It was about the album cover and the tracks on the album. I've lost the site. Does anyone know which site it is and the URL? I assume you mean the site with stuff about the double box sets? You'll find links to those in my lil Satanic Sessions HQ thread...

QuoteDiamondDog7 Sorry, I've said it wrong. With Brian's song I mean; all those instruments he's playing and solo he's playing. That's what I mean by Brian's song. Brian played electric dulcimer and recorder on it.

Gomper isn't really Brian's song. Those that don't like it should blame Jagger and Richard. I love it though so I ain't looking for anyone to blame. Satanic could have been a whole lot better(the released and unreleased tracks prove that!), but given the trauma of that year(a lot less crap broke up many a band), the album is cool as f**k!!! It is my 2nd favourite Rolli

QuoteLOGIE I don't dispute the fact that technically, Led Zeppelin managed to achieve a great sound, but you know as well as I do that it would be impossible for one single guitar to produce anything like the onslaught that we hear in the two commercially available DVD releases. There's no overdubs on the Supershow or Danish TV Special from 1969. The supershow Dazed and Confu

I'm glad I'm not alone in hearing this connection between Their Satanic Majesties Request and Beggars Banquet! Or make that more 1967 - 1968. It makes more sense when you listen to the sessions and outtakes rather than just the albums themselves.
