Yes Rockman is right. The house was sold and the pool was renovated. The original tiles were sold off, you could buy just one if you wanted. In the 1960s when Brian was there, the house would have been much more basic, probably less plush. Even things like the heating / hot water system and the kitchen were not as they are today. The UK was not long into "formica" kitchen worktops

Brilliant marketing. Maximum publicity for minimum outlay. One of the cornerstones underlying their longevity at the very top.

Is this where one of the Stones said "We never really got it on until...D..."? Or was that just the bootleg title ??

Perhaps when they are finished, she could do a statue of Brian for Cheltenham town centre ?

The great new Dylan album "Shadow Kingdom" shows how one aging artiste can produce a stunning new album with creativity and dignity. Imagine a new Stones album revisiting their great songs in a similar way to Dylan's album. A true final legacy.

The Stones ( ie Jagger Richards ) have obviously forgotten how to make an album. Whatever they produce now will inevitably fall short of expectations. I have had enough and am now quite content to listen to Beggars Banquet or Aftermath. I certainly will not spend a penny of my pension on any “new” album.......they have lost the plot.......and I suspect that after Blue And Lonesome reached n

The FileFactory link for DAC194 put up by Irix above, is showing as "malicious site do not visit" on my computer which has Norton protection. So are the other links on the IORR page of DAC. Therefore, would someone please post the 2 Satisfaction tracks to this thread for download please (the instrumental and the stereo). Thank you.

Correction to my previous post.........Paul Jones is President of the National Harmonica League. He has also been named player of the year at least three times and played harmonica as a session musician......he’s very very good and some of that came from BJ. BJ and Keith Richards also asked Paul Jones to be lead singer when BJ was forming the Stones....but he turned them down.

I believe Jagger learned much from Brian Jones in the very early days. Before the Stones, Brian also gave a few tips to Paul Jones who later became the President of the UK harmonica society. I was told this personally by Paul Jones.

QuoteZotz I think there is a quotation on the Glyn John's book about Brian coming up to Mick during the Let it Bleed sessions and asking "what can I play?" and Mick responding and asking "I don't know, what can you play?" apparently Brian had re-injured his hand and had not healed properly and could no longer play guitar nor keyboards. This may well be close to

Well neddie I obviously would not peel layers off a painting because that would damage it........however I would be very interested in any of the artists working drawings to learn and appreciate how their creation of a masterpiece progressed. In the same way I appreciate hearing many demos and original stripped down beginnings of songs. I would argue that many of the Stones early compositions

Not sure Good Time Women should be on the list and could you clarify what you mean by “live” because 2120 South Michigan Avenue has been played live.....just not in a modern stadium tour. I’m not trying to criticise your list, just trying to get it clear.

Question for His Majesty.............your 23rd February post above shows a very good video about Brian called The End. It plays a version of No Expectations, in good quality sound, with clearly different lyrics (from the offical BB version) that I have never heard before. Could you please give any info you have on this track and if you have the complete version to post .......please do.

Thank you for the link. There's some really interesting stuff here...........BUT anyone thinking of buying needs to read the descriptions very carefully. For example Lot 1050 is described as a poster for a live Stones concert in 1966 at the London Marquee Club.......but the Stones, as far as I know, never played the Marquee in 1966 ?

If it is true that a tour announcement was to be made, then everything would have been agreed and in place for the tour. To cancel the announcement can only mean that something fairly serious has occurred........to stop or delay the tour announcement, but not necessarily the tour. It could be any one of a hundred things.........medical, financial, logistical, illness in the family.......we

Koen............when I bought the UK Decca single on day of release in 1966, the label on the disc (which I still have) was “Paint It, Black”. As far as I am concerned that is and always will be the title of that great song and I don’t give a .... for any modern woke views about it. Star Star is and always will be a song that has the words pussy and @#$%& in it. Art is art and no-one will
