Quotepalerider22 I really looked forward every day to the ongoing discussion. There were some really excellent and thought-provoking posts on that thread and I don't recall many posts that crossed the line. I posted there a lot I don't think I ever mentioned Ron Wood or diminished him in any way. My main point was really to add to the mix, not compare anyone or denigrate the band. I

I've been reading and posting here for a long time. Stood in line next to BV for Brixton Academy tix and bought IORR mag before the web happened. In all that time, I think that these last two posts from Tele and NLust are the most rewarding comments I've seen. I sometimes wonder why I continue pursuing this love affair that started for me at age 12 in the spring of 81 when clearly, my d

Quotepeoplewitheyes I don't know why the Beach Boys are used as the (negative) critical yardstick. They put out a generally fabulous album in 2012, with some breathtaking magic on it. (several of which were regularly played live) Not to mention Brian Wilson's continuing solo work (new album next week) and the bunch of rich archive sets that have been released over the last 2 dec

QuoteMr. Jimi Didn't Keith write about the Marquee show in Life? I remember him saying that it was a few days after the UK tour and he wasn't in great shape for that gig. He showed up late and they were all bitching at each other and dealing with the camera crew or something like that. Wasn't it also performed in front of family and friends for a TV special and certainly not a

QuoteJMARKO Quotegotdablouse There was a poster who signed as "Disarranging Mine" and was quite the outtakes specialist. I'm flattered. That was, indeed me. Didn't realize/remember that was my 'handle' out there. Loved having that name. Do you know how I came up with it? (Fairly obvious...) Yes, after a while I realized.

I'm hoping he will at least be included in the LA Sticky Fingers show that Bjornulf says will occur. That would be sweet, exciting and respectful to the Taylor fans and MT himself. Probably the most we can hooe for at this point. As amazing as this sounds, it would really be a no win situation. If they do a SF LA club/theater with MT and he kills it, it will only make the decision to no

Quotebigpond QuoteBastion Quotekahoosier Feeling good about legacies, the Stones and mine! Driving home in Auckland I just got an international text from my 10 year old great nephew who has just started guitar lessons. He heard the Stone were on tour somehow, asked his mom if he could go, and she had a him text me about getting him a ticket. ALL RIGHT PEYTON ALT UNCLE STEVE IS GONNA TAKE YOU TO

QuoteCousinC Always have to laugh about that black guy on the chair clapping along. Didn't that guy get fired for scalping tickets or something. I vaguely recal MJ debating on camera what they should do about him, but can't remember the details.

Quotecamper88 There are at least three kinds of lyrics in Stones songs: 1. The lyrics that we hear and understand and know pretty much what they mean, although we may disagree on the exact meaning or historical reference. 2. The lyrics we mishear and misunderstand, and as a result don't know what they mean, (I'll never leave your pizza burning) and 3. The lyrics we hear and understa

QuoteJames Kirk WOW! Could they have picked more boring markets to play in? No New York, Boston, Chicago, L.A, but they are playing Stones strong holds like Milwaukee, Columbus and Raleigh??? I understand that they didn't hit these markets last time around, but I thought for sure they would have thrown in some of the traditional strong Stones markets. Why didn't you go to Spock&#

QuoteVideoJames I knew brother David back in the late 70's and he asked me to help track down a "special" version of Gimme Shelter that they made that was stolen, it had back stage footage and concert footage not used in the released filmed. The film ran a little over an hour. The extra footage was not the footage that was used in the DVD special release. This was a private pers

GGardens is a documentary the brothers made about two of Jackie O's cousins. Then JLange and DBarrymore made a movie on HBO that shows the brothers coming to film them. well worth a look (both of them). I had the privilege of seeing an appearance he did on a Saturday and Sunday last year at a theater in LA where he showed a bunch of shorts on one day, then the next it was all Beatles 64, f

Wasn't Bowie the guy that Keith stayed awake with for nine days or something like that in the early 70s? How much closer can two guys get? Besides, well you know, like Bowie and Jagger.

Complete craziness. There are about 10-15 people out of 15-20,000 people who are there because of MT. I love him, have seen him 4 times solo, saw the RW/MT Jimmy Reed shows, saw two fantastic shows in Philly in 2013, but for real, his appearance or not for one tune, plus his bit of acoustic on Satisfaction means virtually nothing even to the hardest of the hardcore. He hopefully made a buck or t

IMO, Texas 1978 is every bit as good as the MTaylor shows, but MUCH more enjoyable to watch as there is good camera coverage all around and a great, fun, engaged vibe from the band, rather than the detached, Gods on Mt Olympus vibes of 72 & 73.

Quotelem motlow QuoteGasLightStreet I was surprised to find out way after the fact that Jagger had apparently even considered touring the US. For who? Who would bother to go see Jagger solo? A whole lot of nobody. The thought "Mick Jagger should do a solo tour!" never once crossed my mind. Shitty songs on shitty albums. Nothing he did captured anyone. Meanwhile Mr Solo St

I think we're looking at "creative journalism" here. I was at the height of my Stones mania, and I don't remember ever hearing about any cancelled solo tour. I'm sure if tickets ever went on sale (again, I don't believe this actually happened), it would have been big news if he couldn't sell tickets. Just doesn't make any sense. I think playing in Australia

Hello, I'm reaching out to the IORRers to see if anyone knows where wall murals of MJ and Alice Cooper are in downtown LA. I passed by this building a few weeks ago but now can't recall where it is and can't find anything on the web about it. Thanks in advance for any insight.
