It seems like they moved in the same circles, but is there any mention anywhere of them meeting?

QuoteRockman Dean Goodman review Cheers, thanks Rockman! Wow, just read Dean Goidman's review and couldn't disagree more strongly on nearly every point he made. I also am not a fan of his tone. I too, used to feel it was my hard earned right to mock them and casually insult them, because it was from a place of deep love as it is also, obviously the same for Dean. However, moc

QuoteNikkei Didn't enjoy Dean Goodmans review so much, though. I get why he resonates with some of you, but most of his observations are actually VERY subjective... Where is this review? I don't see it anywhere and it doesn't come up under his name in search.

QuotePaddy QuoteBFR I will never, ever regret making the hasty decision to attend the show in St. Louis. I hadn’t planned on going to the opener originally, but after Charlie passed, I felt like I would really be missing out on something special if I wasn’t there. What a great day spent with several others from IORR, swapping concert experiences, sharing our feelings and memories of Charlie and g

QuoteThe GR They have never opened a show with 2000 Light Years From home. It was mid-set 1989-90 and mid set at Glastonbury. Well, that's true, but didn't they come on stage to a tape of it in 72, ala Continental Drift 89?

They were enormous in the US for 2-3 years. They once did an entire week on the Mike Douglas show, IIRC.

Unfortunately, Steve Gebhardt passed in 2015 however, there is a rap/metal band named Crazy Town that formerly featured the nephew of Ruby Mazur, designer of the Tumblin Dice sleeve and Rollin Binzer's son Seth. I'll try to contact both Binzers to see if they have any info. It says in the RS article that they shot 60,000 feet of film. Is it still in existence? Where is it? Who owns

Vienna- Not perfect video, but the sound is quite good. Overall, a very worthy viewing, IMO.

The lyrics of Born in the USA are actually pretty angry and full of heartbreak and disappointment from the viewpoint of a disillusioned soldier returning home Vietnam. Instead of parades with flag waving citizens celebrating his patriotic sacrifice, he found rejection and hopelessness in this USA that didn't give a damn about him or his troubles. So, not really the warm, feel good vibe

QuoteGasLightStreet I am a bit disappointed that 2 remixes of Scarlet are on the album but not Through The Lonely Nights (which apparently is not on Spotify, not sure about wherever else sans YouTube) - or anything else for that matter. Seems like a no brainer. I agree, it is ridiculous. How did EverythingITTGold not find a spot on Some Girls deluxe? And, I haven't read the whole thread to s

Whatever happened with all of this? I know it's dead horse abuse, but after all of the back and forth, not one of the main posters or players involved has addressed what is an obviously gigantic elephant in the drawing room. The lips and tongue design is 100% Alan Aldridge. The who, what, where, blah, blah may be intriguing in a Raymond Chandler kind of way, but it is infinitely more astound

Quote24FPS QuoteThe Joker Quoteslane82 Will probably be taken down soon -- enjoy it while you can: Interesting VIP area... Same VIP area in 1969. Note the common mortal breathing next to Keith has to wear a suit and a tie. Some hippies were so snob. Hilarious. Is that Sam Cutler next to Keith? Maybe Jimmy Miller? Definitely not Sam.

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotegeorgie48 QuoteBluesManc Some lovely tongues there. It's practically poetic that they end up with this logo. You should read the history of its making. In 1970 Marshall Chess, in those days fresh president of Rolling Stones records, came up with the idea of a nameless logo, inspired by the Shell Oil logo. Then Mick (J) showed a Kali image to young designer John Pas

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but is the red SG around the donkey's neck on the cover shot, the same guitar that Jimi Hendrix is seen playing backstage at MSG? Has to be, right?

Quotehopkins Quoteschillid Beggars Banquet unmatched. agreed; that slashing guitar work is profound and thuddingly spectacular, as far as emotion and 'mean it!" goes, imo too. also, for me anyway, the "Liver Than You'll Ever Be" performance (of both Keith and Mick Taylor) was profound to me. This was prior to GYYYO live (studio - 'fixeed,' in post-production

It's not logical at all, taking the 1972 technology of filming in mind. Hand held camera's held about 6 minutes of tape, and reloading took 10 minutes. So the number of songs and which songs to be shot was decided beforehand. This is also the reason they did not film an entire MSG 1969 show, but only parts, and the reason why the footage of L&G switches from show to show, even w
