To me, it sounds like the alternate version released on the "Shelley" Hot Rocks.

It can be found on many bootlegs, as exemple CD4 /track 15 on "The Black Box - millienium edition".

markers : octavados - piano - NO back-up vocals - NO electric guitar

it´s on the alternate sticky fingers album, too.

unplugged stereo mix, no overdubs

Close, but then again...wrong (in fact you are very close). Take one more listen.

Wrong. In the movie you don't hear the line "You know I can't let you slide through my hands". Nice try, anyway.

No winner has been found yet. Last call, the quiz is still open for qualified answers (or guesses).

and the solution?

Solution is maybe the version same as on "Time Trip Vol. 1" track 14.

I made a mistake with the alternate Hot Rocks recording, but I think this is this one (I mean same as on Time trip 1 - not Hot Rocks alternat). The strange thing are the crackles on the sample.

Hurristone,

I'm afraid I have to go with the Shelley version as well. Here are the versions I have compared:

1) BASIC MIX: acoustic and 12-string acoustic guitars, drums start 2:12
IE: Time Trip Vol. 1 #13; Itchy Fingers #11; Tricky Fingers #5; Alternate Sticky Fingers #3

2) TACK PIANO MIX: to basic mix, add tack piano, drums start 1:18
IE: Time Trip Vol. 2 #3; Tricky Fingers #6; Hot Rocks (Shelley)

3) PEDAL STEEL MIX: to tack piano mix, add pedal steel
IE: Nasty Habits (VGP-057) #10; Itchy Fingers #12; Alternate Sticky Fingers #16

4) TACK PIANO MIX EDIT: edit of tack piano mix (first 30 secs spliced with the last 2:10)
IE: Gimme Shelter (film); Nasty Habits (VGP-057) #16

5) OFFICIAL VERSION: to tack piano mix, add electric slide guitar, background vocals
IE: Sticky Fingers (official)

6) Martin Elliot also talks about a Billy Preston organ version, but I'm not sure if I've heard that one before. Does anyone have any info on this one?

Your sample is from about the 1:05 to 1:50 mark. It has both acoustic guitars, drums, tack piano, no slide, no pedal steel, no background vocals. That makes it mix (2) above. The tack piano, however, is more pronounced than most versions (any version listed above). Where is it from?
