Long awaited Mick Taylor guitar tab book now available
Posted by: MickTaylorfan27 ()
Date: December 12, 2012 14:47

I just finished transcribing a PDF tab/notation book of Mick Taylor's playing from 1969-1974. For the most part, the songs are pretty much just the guitar solos, with a few other lead parts thrown in on some of the songs. Like all of my other books, this is a pdf file and there is no physical copy of the book. Shortly after payment is recieved, I will send you the pdf book, via e-mail. Some of Mick's best playing is from this time period. Just to name a few, there's the classic guitar solos from "Time Waits For No One", "Sway" and "Gimme Shelter (Live in Philly '72)" - all 3 of which have never been transcribed before. Only Mick's guitar parts are transcribed - none of Keith's playing is included. Most of the live songs are from bootlegs, which do not have offical cd releases, but all of the songs can easily be found on youtube. Anyone who is interested in purchasing this, or anyone who has any questions, can contact me at jazzguitarist27@yahoo.com

Here is a complete tracklisting:

1. 100 Years Ago

2. Angie (Live in Newcastle '73)

Not the whole album, no. Two of the songs from this book("Sympathy For The Devil" and "Stray Cat Blues") are from that album.

Yeah, no problem. I don't blame you for asking, most tabs on the internet look like crap andare very inaccurate. My tabs looks exactly like the ones from most tab books. Give me your e-mail and I will send you a few examples.

Thanks! I hope everyone enjoys it, I spent almost two years working on it!

Thanks, did you collaborate with Mick ? As far as I know his playing, sometimes different fingering types are possible, without hearing the difference.

I did not. Although, after I finished figuring out the notes, I spent a great deal of time working on positions to ensure everything was accurate. I also studied any live video performances of his from this era I could find to help me out.

Oh man, I just ordered this ebook. And all I can say....that it is AWESOME!
Best tab on the internet. Some of that tab you see transcribed online is horrible, and unreadable and not mention wrong..... but his is perfect.
He takes time to slow down the music to get every note right!
I highly recommend this to any guitar player who (like me) doesn't feel like learning a solo by ear note for note. Sure we can all improv, but this gets it perfect! Especially since most of this stuff is nowhere in print.
He's got more Stones in the works....so I'll be ordering more that's for sure.
(great price)
So don't hesitate to order this book. You'll be happy you did!!!!!!!

I don't read tab but if I did I would definitely want this. MT was a true original guitar genius. He deserves more credit.

Hey I ordered this book since my band does a nice tribute to The Stones! And I was just going through SWAY among others. And I really, really love it!
Seriously all guitar players who want to connect with their inner Mick Taylor MUST get these tabs. What's nice is most are the live versions too!
NOTE FOR NOTE of what he played. You can't get much better than that.
My guitarist and I are having a field day.
I will probably bug you for some new stuff soon!! So keep up the good work!
Thanks again
AJ

Oh and for the folks wondering.....this is the professional tablature, not that horrible stuff you see all over the net. WELL WORTH IT!

Here's a YouTube hosted playlist loop of all 28 tracks from the book.

In the case of the various above linked-to full concert recordings, the specific songs that Mike transcribed are individulally in the playlist, as opposed to the full concert from beginning to end.
