THE DON
Hi Rolling On,
What else does this VHS have on it besides the 5 songs mentioned here above?
Thanks.
I have the original 2 DVD set and the VHS is just a part of it.
Someone taped the Stones part on VHS and distributed it.
Oh, and BTW, apart from the (bad) interviews, it's exactly the same footage as on the official release, only poorer quality.(IMHO)
Here's the original, complete set:
MOJO WORKING The Making of Modern Music
Umbrella / 2 disc set / 290 minutes
John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Otis Redding,
This early 90's doco/performance series pulls together some stunning live footage as it profiles the names that helped shape modern music as we know it. Across two discs it covers the roots of rock n roll in the blues with the likes of Muddy Waters, on through the UK Rhythm and Blues explosion with the emergence of the Stones, the soul of Otis Redding and James Brown and the scorching psychedelic rock of James Marshall Hendrix. Add to the mix Jim Morrison and the Doors and some very seldom seen John Lennon footage and you have the makings of a must have collection.
The emphasis is on live performance and whilst there are some obvious suspects, Jimi at Monterey, The Stones in Hyde Park, there is more than enough that hasn't been over seen, especially the likes of Otis Redding, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis, to make it a worthwhile purchase, nay, an essential one for lovers of rock's golden age.
