Now this is strange: Best quality of CS Blues and Brown Sugar w/ Clapton so far and noone seems to notice, or at least noone says "THANKS A LOT, MIDNRAMBLER!!!".
So please let me start the (hopefully) long queue:
"THANKS A LOT, MIDNRAMBLER!!!"

OT: talking bout off. releases: month ago I dl. some AWFULL alternate version of "All Down The Line".For a time I thought it was a boot (I never heard that version before), but a friend of mine, claims its an off. single release from "Exile". The B (or A-side) should be "Plundered My Soul".?
Anybody knows anything about this single???

It's a downloadable Amazon.com track, not the same as included on Exile Deluxe
"some AWFUL alternate version"
Yes an awful version. Same goes for the awful version released on the awful Exile On Main Street album.
Seriously, are you joking?

Thanks. These sound quite good. My previous reference was the pre-VGP CS Blues CD EP w/these tracks and the '73 RTL mono FM broadcasts. Good stuff.
Are these better than that EP? I don't have it handy to check.

The EP sounds like it is from a restored (declicked) original single (Hard-On Records), from which all circulating versions (including the officially released Rest Of The Best one!!!) originate.
These new versions sound like they are actually from the studio master tape or a low generation/digital copy of the analog studio master.
Either DAC dug out the original master tape used for the Hard-On single (rumour has it that it was given to the original bootlegger by no one else than MJ himself!) or aquired a new transfer from the original studio master tapes.

First off, thank you very much midnrambler!
My reference versions are a black vinyl 45 single and a blue vinyl 33 single with a fake Rolling Stones Records label.
Now I don't want to spoil the party here, but I prefer the vinyl sound!
It has more punch and I can live with a few crackling noises.
The cd version sounds too clean for me.
Just my opinion!
I don't think Brown Sugar is from tape either, I hear vinyl sounds at the very end of the track.

Sorry, Bo, I just can't believe that you refer to that alternate version of All Down The Line as "awful". Maybe you mean "awesome" ? It's a terrific and cooking version (IMO), allthough not as "finished" as the version included on the awesome Exile On Main Street.
