What's the earliest known recorded examples you can think of?

Here's a different kind of weaving to look at while you think
about the question.

Do you mean just Stones?
If you mean any early weaving, I would definitely nominate Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry. Check out 'the BM Special'....also 'Packin' Up Gettin' Ready'.
