Stones Hyde Park 1969 complete concert film?

After reading about the new Jimi Hendrix 1967 Monterey concert DVD+CD featuring his full concert I mean why no new film with the full 1969 Stones Hyde Park concert.
I sure was happy back then when "The Stones in the Park" film finally came out but at the same time always was disappointed about all that drivel and silly scenes in the film which had nothing to do with the concert.

I think they had everything to with the concert. As an event it had to put in its proper context. Its unquestionably the most famous concert they ever played - and with 300,000 turning up and Brian dying two days earlier, you simply cant just detach the music from the event.

Agree that it would be nice to get a longer version with the full show, even if it IS hardly their finest hour musically

Back then - yes - the film was a documentation of the event. But today I just would like to see the whole concert with the songs in right order. Though I agree, it was not their finest concert musically.

BTW I couldn't make it to Hyde Park that day back in 1969 but I had a lot of talk with Alexis Korner about the concert and about Brian a few weeks later.
If I remember right Alexis had started to support Free back then and he intoduced me to Paul and Koss.
But that's another story.

don't think Altamont might have it beat, unfortunately?

I dont think so. As an 'iconic' concert, I think Hyde Park has them all beat.

I'm sure I'm not the only person here who'd love to hear it!

Hi Gazza

I'll try to take some time on weekend. But don't expect something new or spectacular. I was just a 17 year old fan who was in awe meeting these guys.
