What a great tour it was! Great new songs (Saint/Control): the highlights
when they came to Europe! And, btw, the BEST stage gimmick ever - the telescope

Bridges To Babylon was a fantastic tour. I loved it. And I remember it like it was yesterday. Flying into Chicago on Friday Sept 19, one day too late for the Double Door show (they moved it actually, planned for Friday), but the Chicago opening shows were great memories, and as I got to see the entire first rehearsals at Soldier Field on Saturday Sept 20 so I did not mind much coming too late for the Double Door. Climbing on top of the seated area viewing the band, the stage and the Chicago skyline in the background... Walking back down to the front of the stage watching the band for some songs... Standing next to Michael Cohl (who does not know me) on the field watching the great band rehearsing like it was the opening show. Then the shows. Meeting Charlie walking in the streets of Chicago... Then the rest... Flip The switch in Charlotte... Great memories... and many many great shows! I loved that tour indeed!

Great tour. Keith was superb throughout.

B stage was used as intended - for numbers that normally wouldn't be on the main stage.
The bridge was a really original idea.

Little Queenie - wow!
Route 66
Crazy Mama
Last Time
When the Whip.........

and many more !

1 of my favourite tours.

Live At The 10 Spot...one of the best TV broadcasted performances the last 25 years. Especially Gimme Shelter

Good thing you didn't sell.
I only won one ticket-contest ever, and that featured a trip to New York as well. But it wasn't for a Rolling Stones concert. There were some people trying to buy my ticket there. No way....imagine flying all the way home without hearing any music....

I went to the Atlanta show of B2B in December of that year, and it was probably the best of the five times I've seen them in Atlanta. Just a wonderful concert from beginning to end.

Lord, how could that POSSIBLY have been ten years ago? Hard to believe, isn't it? I was just the other day thinking back to the Steel Wheels tour, which seems like it was just yesterday, and it was 18 years ago.

Guess we're getting older, huh?

I remember the great line from Kitty Carlisle, who used to be on U.S. game shows on TV:

"When you get over the age of 65.....every fifteen minutes.....is Breakfast."

First time for my wife and I to see the Stones live...after 20 yrs of wasted opportunities! Saw them in Houston at The Compaq Center which only had seating for 11,000 people...one of the smaller venues for the Stones in a long time. Fantastic show...been to countless since...

I have been digging the Bridges to Babylon album recently, and it mostly holds up certainly way better than some of their peers drawing on similar (Dust bros, Danny Saber, etc) influences, like Bowie's work, where the electronic/drum & bass/etc influences sound really second hand and grafted on. B2B feels like the Stones all the way through, and has several great songs, inventive settings, and a lot of experimentation, and great playing by the band. The tour was good, but I only saw 2 shows and actually preferred the 1999 No Security tour, which had a good portion of B2B material, never or rarely played classics (Some Girls, Moonlight Mile, Route 66, etc) and a stripped down approach - the bells & whistles left in storage...

I met Mick and had some chat on North Michigan Avenue.
His image was crystal clear.
He was there with his son and daughter on the next day of the opening show.
I was there with my wife and 1 year old son at the time.
Ten years ago today.

Ten years ago tonight I thought they were mediocre at best...until they hit the B-stage. If you can, listen to Little Queenie from that show...great rock n' roll...

I saw five on that tour and it was the last gig in Chicago that may have been my Number 1. It was the precursor for the No Security tour...arenas with tickets priced way beyond what they were priced prior. What a stage, what show...iMck did a snake chamer move I will never forget and Keith was ablaze. If only I could get a video of that show...

YES! Loved BTB!! The tour that burst my Stones in Concert Cherry!! Man o man! I've never been the same since! Foxboro '97. I was completely blown away by that bridge and them opening with Satisfaction. What a show that was! Star Star, Sister Morphine, The Last Time, Crazy Mama, Gimme Shelter, Flip the Switch, Anybody Seen My Baby, All About You. Why don't they have variation like that nowadays?! That was the last truely mixed up setlist tour.
