1792 american tour, please share your experiences
Posted by: HEILOOBAAS ()

Let's hear about STP! I didn't actually SEE the band, I was living in Hicksville, New York, Long Island and I was 13 years old. My family was getting ready to move to Seattle.

I can tell you that even at my tender young age it was Stones Stones Stones the week they played the Garden. It was in the papers and on the news. My neighbours almost went; I can not remember if they did or not.

The Stones OWNED New York that week. I have never seen anything like it since, esp. in Sleepy Seattle, the third tier hamlet...

In 1792, the Stones crossed the ocean blue....

I guess all the gigs were 'unplugged' back then?

At the end of the 1792 shows, they had a bunch of dudes behind the stage shooting muskets instead of fireworks.

They might have been supported by Les Robespierres (from Hamburg/St.Pauli)

Charlie was great on that tour, marching around the stage with his snare drum around his neck...

The lyrics to "Brown Sugar" were exactly the same and the set-closing "Tea Dumping Man" totally rocked.

I've been having a psychic exerience and have just learned that in 2092 the Stones will have a banner year. Keith is still saying, "We'll play as long as people want to listen."

Some are saying "Keith looks tired" and "He missed a key riff on 'Satisfaction'."

Charlie yawns a lot: "I get bored playing with this band."

Mick's wardrobe trunks fill an entire super-jet.

In 14 of 123 countries on the tour, there have been complaints about the setlist. Numerous fans are demanding: "Bring back the warhorses! We're sick of the blues."

Kentucky became a state in 1792. The Stones played the celebration at Churchill Downs.

I remember their being alot of backlash against the stones on this tour. It might have been because they were british and we colonists had just thrown off the shackles of the British tyrants, or maybe it was the fact that Virginia's tobacco plantations had a long recovery time after the Stones left.
