Good clip...
Unfortunately, some people don't realize that YOU CANNOT TURN A VIDEO CAMERA SIDEWAYS (!!!) like you can with a still photo. When then that is done, althoguh the person looking at his viewfinder/screen gets a better view... it causes the video to turn sideways!

I intend to process the video shown in that link, and "correct" the occassional 90=degree rotation.

I'd like to post the result on YouTube... but would doing so be a copyright problem?

schillid, kinda off topic, but I have some videos that I've taken where I stupidly turned the camera sideways automatically (same camera as for my still photos). Could you tell me how I can/what I need to rotate them?
Thanks!
Sorry, I don't know if it would be a copyright problem for the video in question.

not unless the film is a commercial product.
more likely the person who filmed it will be grateful to you

I will probably use Adobe After Effets.

(After downloading the ".flv" file to my computer... and then using iSquint software to convert the .flv to Quicktime .mov; My current version of AE will not import .flv )

Copyright???
Video was taken by an spanish museum security man. A boy gave him the camera through the iron gate, together with several mobile camera phones.
I'm afraid this was the only song taped.
I can't believe it how it could appeared in La Vanguardia, right wing Barcelona's newspaper, probably in youtube or other webs,in any case, La Vanguardia doesn't have any copyright for sure.

Yeah, I thought the cameraman went crazy - suits the song though. lol

I wouldn't worry about copyright issues on this little flic.
would be nice if you get it done.

IT IS DONE! It was easier than I expected.

I have updated the IORR Barcelona pages with more reports and pictures.
Also I have added links to these threads as well as the video.

Thank you. A good honest summary at the end there.

I'm amazed to read in that report that the attendees didnt know it was the Stones who were playing until they got there. So much for the assertion made earlier by a previous reviewer which suggested there were plenty of fans there who just happened to be DB staff and who had 'networked' their way into the gig.

A belgian newspaper, usually pro-stones, reported about the gig this weekend saying this wasn't R'n R.

Re: Barcelona club show reports

People who did know this private show would happen, like you and me, i.e. real Stones fans, knew about this show due to extensive work on secret dates etc. I had three or four souces of this info before the show happened, and none of them were public, they were smoked out by my own investigatiuon and work over time. The bank people just went for a conference. If the Stones had been known as the "entertainment of the day" this would have been all over the news. As many as 700 people can not keep a secret. Also, there might be scalping of badges so no reason it was a big secret. When talking to the bank people at the ARTS HOTEL hours before they left for the dinner it was quite clear that they did NOT know this was a Stones show. Well if they go on IORR of course they would know but most of them did not, and they did certainly not send me a review (those two up there are from inside-outsiders) so it is clear this was very secret and just post-dinner entertainment at a high cover charge. Also, I know Deutche Bank executives who tried to influence on the guest list without any success. There was no way you could get into this show as an invidet guest without being signed on by the manager in charge.

Right. That was prostituting... R'n R is something different.

Yep..its bizarre for sure..I knew (as did some others here) that they were playing a show for Deutsche Bank, but wasnt aware what city it was in until you mentioned it to me..and that was, what..over two weeks before it took place.

Its funny that it seems that pretty much the only DB staff who knew about it in advance were those who tried for weeks to get a ticket without success (well, its not 'funny' for them, but you get what I mean..)

They didn't know it beacuse they haven't been intereseted who's
playing for dinner. They gave a shit on it.

And it was in the newspapers (at least in Germany) some days before this
gig that the Stones will play for DB in Barcelona.

But that's just my 2 cent here.

To be honest, I can understand sarahunwin. What would happen
if you will stand among all those "managers"? R'n'R feeling?
I guess I would feel pissed. Something does not fit here!

Just fyi - I attended this concert, and yes I am a banker. I can't say too much in this forum, but I will tell you that a) virtually everyone knew the Rolling Stones were playing, if they didn't they really had to try hard to stay completely uninformed b) not everyone was a fan but nearly everyone was appreciative and into it and c) multiple new and soon to be hard core fans were created by having the privilege to see the Stones in such an intimate venue.

The criticism of the event on this site is a little misplaced in my opinion. I'm one of the people that have been described here as money grubbing, strictly business oriented, disinterested in the Rolling Stones or anything other than finance etc etc etc. The truth is I know a good portion of their music by heart, but I have never bought an album or been to a concert. Will I do so in the future? Absolutely. They are excellent. Think back to when you rediscovered this band - that's where I am right now. And yes perhaps I should have paid my dues by attending a larger concert first, but I got lucky, as did the 400-500 others that were there (not sure how the press got to 700, maybe the numbers grew on account of additional passes, models, etc).

Lucky you !!!
I agree with most of what you say, but seeing the Stones in a small venue is something that thousands of "true", say more motivated and dedicated fans will never have a chance to experience. This may explain some reactions.

I wish my company would've orgnized such a great event ! But if they did, I ain't even sure I would have been invited, but you never know.

I have a few questions if you mind :
Who was in there ? The salesforce ? The asset managers ? The top management ? VIP customers ? With or without spouses ?

All of the above... hence the hodgepodge from the unfamiliar to the massively dedicated fans. I'm somewhere in the middle, but becoming more and more interested by the day. Unfortunately that's the limit of my info - hopefully others get a chance to experience something like this soon - it was amazing.

I don't know if the last sentence is real, but funny though....

STONES EARN $5.4 MILLION FROM BANKERS' STAGE SHOW

THE ROLLING STONES played an intimate gig for 500 bankers in Spain - and were paid $5.4 million (GBP2.7 million) for their private stage show. The rockers' two year A Bigger Bang tour is said to be one of the longest and highest grossing ever, having pulled in over $436 million (GBP218 million) to date. But that didn't stop the musicians supplementing their income with an 80-minute set at a party organised by Deutsche Bank in the Catalan National Art Museum in Barcelona, Spain last week (12Jul07). And frontman Mick Jagger admitted he was delighted to be earning so much from the wealthy bankers. He told the crowd, "Thank you for having us. The best part is, it's coming out of your bonuses."

But why a concert for bankers...why not a show for the people workin in the NY hospitals...or a show for the chain gang.(like Johny Cash did)..whatever!!They did it this way..so all i can say is im glad you liked it.

Has anyone mentioned...

Maybe Mick was paying homage to his past
at the London School of Economics by doing
the Deutsche Bank private show?
