I dont think so, Halup. Unless a few fans got in due to their connections (and good luck to those who did). Its a private show for high ranking executives from what I gather. I know of at least one member of this board who has a senior managerial job at DB, who has attended several shows already this summer and they werent given a sniff of ticket availability for it. One of their bosses did however, and he was someone who wouldnt even know how to appreciate the Stones' music. If there are members of the audience who happen to be Stones fans, its coincidence. I dont think there's any chance that it would be the 'cross section' of fans at the average Stones show that we're used to.

Go to the main page of iorr.org and click on the photo Bjornulf posted showing the room the show was in. He says it was a 14 song show beginning with Start Me Up and ending with Stasifaction and says Ruby Tuesday and It's All Over Now were also played. He'll soon have the full report up.

I would dare say that if they weren't Stones fans going in, that I'm sure a lot of them were blown away by the power of the Stones as a live act and won't notice many of the faults that a lot of hard core fans point out.

LOL. In your dreams, I would bet. Look at that photo, Does that crowd look like the sort of audience who would smuggle in tape recorders?

Not a t-shirt in sight there and everyone looks like theyve just stepped out of a boardroom. Surreal.

thats the kind of crowd that will probably ask what album brown sugar is on, lol

...a less discerning audience, in other words.

Or a dumb audience, to put it more bluntly.

They may be big enough fans know the answer to that: Forty Licks. They may even know that it's also on Hot Rocks.

Only when theyre being filmed or when their proper audience get in.

Private shows tend to get the bog-standard greatest hits set, and they usually only play for about 90 minutes at most.

Theyre hardly going to rehearse something like Let it loose for an audience who barely know more than about 3 songs.

hey...don't judge a book.... winking smiley

actually it's probably the best time to smuggle a recorder...i doubt
they will be patting them down or using a "wand". all we need
is one stones fan...doesn't even need to be hardcore....just someone that
wants a souvenir and then we can send Baboon Bro to his house. winking smiley

I dont think you can judge anyones musical taist by the clothes they wear.

There was a guy near the front in Stuttgart last year in a Suit, shirt and tie.

He was sitting on the ground just like everyone else and eventually he did take the tie off.

Dont think he would have arrived early and sat for hours if he did not care for the Band he is going to see.

Lucky them I say.

If they were not fans before the show I am sure they are now.

ach, I know ya cant..I'm just taking the piss....its just odd to see a crowd at a Stones show being handed drinks on the way in and not a Stones t-shirt in sight.

anyone on here remember the middle aged guy who looked and dressed like Michael Douglas in 'Wall Street' at one of the MSG shows in January 2006?

He was at the side of the stage and Keith came over to him during 'JJF' and he was doing all the air guitar thing and generally going nuts. He got a huge roar when the cameraman focussed on him for about 20 seconds rocking his ass off....a lovely moment.

This is the most humorous thread and it made me really laugh - honestly - a good way to compensate "our jeolousy" not to be able to attend the show.

I guess the stones did deliver a very good show tonight - and I do not loose my faith in believing that may be one or another banker got the right feeling - the feeling we all have when the Stones hit the stage - and I wish them all they could let it loose and experience that special feeling of happieness the Stones provide where $$$, success or carreers are not the most important things for a second. May be they´ll understand and take it home........................

At least we can say the bankers are "men of wealth and taste."

Mick is know to say a few words in the native tongue of the country they perform in. Tonight Mick spoke in banker's language...."Money talks and bullshit walks!"

yes but ... someone decided to hire the Stones to play, not Babs or whoever.
what Halup's said sounds reasonable to me: there were *some* people there who dig the Stones.

Quite agree. Who else would any organisation want to book if they had the option ?
