I'm all for capitalism, and certainly don't criticize the Stones for doin' this, but it still seems very wierd. But, I guess if I had the money, I'd hire 'em too!!

Still, I'd love to read that they pulled out StarStar, Some Girls, and a few more rather "bawdy" tunes tonight. Shock some of the blue bloods so to speak!!

I don´t expect anything to come out of this show, as I do not think this "crowd" is much into bootlegging....

They should invite The swinging pig, because bootlegs are part of the business!

I actually think it's a bit refreshing.

isnt it ironic that the stuffed shirts are going to get the best setlist of the tour, and the worst thing is they dont even care about the setlist, just about showing up and acting the part, they wouldnt know goats head soup from a hole in the ground, what a disgrace

Re: Barcelona club show reports

As I said, It's just my imagination!
But If I were to shell out the big bucks for a private gig, I would have it in the contract that they were to perform at least a handfull of my favorites. I know a lot of "stuffed shirs" and corporate execs who are stones fans.

FYI this thread is not bringing any real information. Just loose talk no facts. There will be facts on IORR soon.

What makes you think they'll get the best setlist?

They'll probably get at best a 90 minute set of greatest hits and a disinterested performance.

I'll believe this 'acoustic set' story when I see it. If they DO play any acoustic set, I'd seriously doubt they'll play more than a handful of songs and it'll be a sort of mini-set.

I simply cant imagine the Stones being bothered to rehearse a 90 minute all acoustic show for a one off performance in front of a few hundred corporate fans who are probably asking each other which of the band is Ringo....

OK, so lets not say anything and let the thread die until we get an official report, maybe we should check rollingstones.com

Some good person got in, I just know it. Thats how BV will get the setlist. With our luck, the show will be better than Balmer 06!

I think we're probably being a bit hard on the people who attended this show, as there were bound to be a small percentage who probably really are big Stones fans and I would think a fair amount of the others are the same type of people as those who shell out $450 to see the Stones in the stadium shows in the US and will have seen at least 1 Stones show in the past.

We already complain about the masses who make up the crowds at Stones shows being a bunch of casual fans and tonight's audience may have been no worse off than in any typical Stones show as far as the percentages of hard core fans, casual fans and those who go just because it's the big event in town that night.

Re: Barcelona club show reports

From Bjornulf's initial report we can see the Stones gave them at least 2 rarely played songs on this tour: It's All Over Now and Ruby Tuesday.

I think you will find if they did some "rare" numbers it would be more to try them out as opposed to giving them something special....unless the contract called for it.
