I'm still amazed that 2000 Light Years From Home made the 1989 setlist. The Stones have a habit of taking a great studio song to the stage and butchering it. But this one actually ascended to greater heights. It was brilliant.

I wonder how it made the setlist and who fought to keep it there.

I reckon Mick has a soft spot for it... Much like the album it comes from. smiling smiley

Having a go at it at Glastonbury came out of left field, too.

I thought the band did a good job, even though Mick had some problems with his in-ear-monitor.

Well, actually I liked it all, but esp, the vox. With many Stones songs IMO it is a question how one will tackle the lead vocals. The songs where Jagger will have done something really affected, or something very Jagger-ish. I thought it was really good that you did them your way.

It's mostly down to the fact it's the only way I can sing... gently. grinning smiley

Would you like to have that song on the IORR tribute album (just as it is)?

We have Backstreet Girl and Time Is On My Side. This Lady Jane will complement those beautifully.

I thought Mick's singing kind of ruined the 2013 Glastonbury version. The 1989/1990 versions were much better. Although, that dark haired girl with the jiggly jugs were the highlight of the Glastonbury show.

What about the six minute 1990 Barcelona show with Chuck Leavell's finest moment carrying the outro that was unfortunately truncated.

Keith sabotaging Matt's outro in Tokyo is priceless! And they kept Keith high in the mix on the dvd/LP grinning smiley

Matt did the entire outro not Chuck? Is there a video of the Tokyo version?

I was referring to the guitar-synth part Matt always did after the song.

AND while we're at it, here is the Between The Buttons Sessions.

What is the bootleg source for these? Ie, which single bootleg, or is this an evolved online collection? Some of these sound like OOPS or left or right speaker only things.

Nice to have stuff together though.
