Booked tickets last night to see Queen + Adam Lambert in Brussels with my dad. Afterwards we're heading to Switzerland as my dad grew up out there and he wants to show me where he lived. It means I'll have a chance to check out the Queen exhibition in Montreux and the Freddie statue.

It'll be my first time seeing them live since Hyde Park in 2005 (hard to believe it was 11 years ago!). I'm really stoked. They were the first rock band I hugely got into and it was Brian May that made me want to play guitar properly. I sort of drifted away from them for a while but I've been getting back into them recently. Heard good things about Adam Lambert, ultimately though May's guitar playing has always been the star attraction for me.

I'm also seeing Ian Siegal who's a great blues singer/guitarist at the Borderline in March and then I'm seeing him doing an acoustic show with Jimbo Mathus in May. I'd recommend checking him out if you don't know his stuff. I find some of it quite Stonesesque.
