re point 6: the LSE is a hotbed of dangerous Commie pinkoes - in repub terms...

You might have to scrape me off the floor at the end of the tour, but it'll be really good scrapings. - Mick Jagger

Mick made a fleeting comment about G.W. Bush at the Houston show last year. I wonder if he did the same in Dallas & Austin.

If ever there was an 'indipendent' it would be a Stone.

What are you trying to do, get yourself banned from IORR ? Don't bother with political threads. They're not particularly interesting, they're totally misplaced, and they inevitably get either closed or deleted by the administrator of this website. And anyway, he's neither. He's a Brit from Dartford/UK.

If memory serves me, when Mick had that plagerism trial in Westchester County back in the late 80's, I recall in an article in the NY Post, the Judge asking Mick his country of residence and he said Mustique?

So, no matter what his political affiliation is, Mick sure isn't voting in the USA or any of the countries he has homes.

Now, that's not to say he's not making finacial donations to political parties.

After all, didn't he get in touch with Bill Clinton for info to get into China for the tour?

"10. He speaks in complete sentences."????
Democrats don't speak in complete sentences??? I could go on a tirade and list and compare all of the things Dem and GOP politicians have said but I won't. I just don't think that's a very good description of a republican in the least bit, especially the current Repubs in office.

And Mick is neither. He's liberal I'm sure. Mick Jagger would not be Mick Jagger if he had a conservative label. I'd bet all of my money that if Mick were American, he would've voted Kerry. I think it'd be career suicide for him to be a Republican.

I agree totally with you. He is just like a lot of other people though--think one thing, yet vote for appearance sake.

Even IF he was an American, his vote would count as one vote anyway. So, who cares?

NEITHER - as others have already pointed out, he's BRITISH.

He's British? Really? One's political viewpoint or propensities can be either what is commonly thought of in the context of a Repub or a Demo. Thanks for all of your thoughtfulness in pointing out his nation of origin.

I've always had him down as a Consevitive, at least as UK politics go.

Instead of that sarcasm, you should be grateful we bothered to answer this stupid and political thread.

not in Britain it doesnt. In most countries there's more of a ideological gulf between the main political parties than there is in the US.

Guess we needed to as you obviously were oblivious to the fact that for most people outside the US, the Dem/Rep terms are irrelevant

A pleasure. Our thoughtfulness in pointing out what you obviously find so objectionable stems from your own complete and utter thoughtlessness in posting a "political" thread. It's just not interesting subject matter, simple as that.

"One's political viewpoint or propensities can be either what is commonly thought of in the context of a Repub or a Demo". True. They can ALSO be thought of in the context of Labour or Conservative, which is perhaps a little more appropriate seeing as Mick Jagger is a Brit. And so bloody what ? The point I was making is the "political" element of your thread is misplaced on a discussion board such as this, countless threads of this sort have led to unfortunate views being expressed in less than diplomatic terms, and unsurprisingly the threads in question have ultimately been either closed or deleted altogether.

Very true.
For some of us, like me, it's absolutely irrelevant what political stands people...and especially artists have.

all said as a joke anyway....the responses are a little too intense.....let's get back to the normal set list complaints, ticket px arguments, comparison to U2, the hair transplants, the Who commentary about the Stones, comparing ablum tidbits, what we are listening to, when we saw a real Stone, Lisa's girth, Charlie's sticks, web site comparisons, Keith's fingers and balance in trees, drinking habits, etc. I agree--much more enjoyable

On the American poltical scale he would be a moderate liberal.

I dislike only 2 choices, on one side, crooks the other, theives.

Mick is more liberal as are most artists.

The only two 'Benefits' I have heard of in the US for the Stones recently were for a Democrat (for Bill in L.A. and N.Y.). What more can you say?

But, who cares and what does it matter- he is a British!

His political philosiophies are in his songs- and I believe in them- atleast the ones I want to! If I am unsure, I think of the lyrics as I want or ignore them and focus on Keith!

I'm not familiar with British politics, but if you pay attention to "Being Mick" (which is now on YouTube) shows him going to the polls and voting. He mentions something about the Socialists something-something party. So maybe that's a clue for you.

I think the more appropriate title for this thread would be :liberal or conservative (at least as they are misused by Americans).
