Age Of Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In - Fifth Dimension

Let the record show that I'm on hold right now and I'm listening on my phone.

It gets pretty funky towards the end, though.

Juan, I'm not embarrassed to admit that I love the music from Hair. I'm not so crazy about the stuff that turned up on the radio (like the 5th Dimension and Cowsills versions), but I like the movie soundtrack. The female vocalist on "Walkin in Space" is out of this world. Her voice is angelic, truly.

...I'm listening to the sounds of coworkers whining about something, I can't quite tell. Slamming doors. Telephones ringing. A diesel truck parked outside. No music. Oh, and of course the constant voice inside my head badgering me to do random acts of kindness.

Luke, that voice can only lead to no good - Ignore it. Did you learn nothing from "Play it Forward"!?

Lukester, maybe you should put "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" on and walk out!

Pixies' Debaser, live 11-30-04. That, and the hideous beating of the telltale heart buried under my floorboards. (Sure hope there are some Edgar Allen Poe fans here or else nobody will know what the hell I am referring to).

Yeah onnya - I think there's a few of us on here who passed the 7th grade - we know what you're talking about.

There's Cindy showing off again. TellTale Heart is graduate level stuff down south.

You beat me to it, Elmo, though I do recall reading Annibel Lee in 7th grade.

Hey Elmo, as much as I'd like to take this job and shove it, they are paying me pretty nicely not to. Besides, there's some guy in Miami with a foreign accent, who I've never met in person but spoken to on the phone constantly, who keeps giving me assignments (like in Charley's Angels or something....I'm serious, I am not sure who I am working for here). And he's waiting on some info from me and if I don't get back to him soon there is a possibility that physical harm could come to me or my loved ones. .....but, it pays the bills.

And CindyC...now I hear more whining and it sounds like someone down the hall here has a dog in distress. I'd better go check on the little rascal....I'll keep you posted.

Oh, and if things aren't crazy enough, we celebrate this event called the Highland Games where I live in the mountains of NC, which is a gathering of Scottish clans and competitions, so as I speak there are drunk men in kilts gathering at the bar next door. By Saturday night this town will be crawling with drunk men in kilts. It's quite a sight.

Thank goodness it's Friday.

are you serious??? This was definitely junior high for me.

I'm not showing off, just being a smart ass.
I do like Poe though, I read a bunch of his stuff a few years ago.

Poe is the little red tellybubbie right? yeah, he's the best writer out of the bunch, the gay one is pretty good too though.

Yeah, we had to sing the song version of TTH about the 7th grade, along with other real winners like "Candy Man". Rural, redneck, southern 12 year boys really dug that stuff. It still brings back bad memories!

...the dog is fine. It turns out it was left alone and its chew toy got stuck under a sofa. I retrieved it for her. Oh sh*t the phone is ringing for me. Why won't that guy in Miami leave me alone? Later.

Elmo, we had a music teacher in 6th grade that thought she was cool so we had to learn Joy To The World by Three Dog Night.....how embarrassing....we had to sing it in front of the rest of the school during some dorky assembly.

HAHA - my father goes to those things up in NH! I haven't spoken to him this week though, so maybe he has ventured down your way Luke. If you see a handsome Charles Bronson look-alike in a kilt, tell him Cindy said to put on some knickers - he's embarrassing the family!

Then perhaps you can explain the meaning of that "Jeremiah was a bullfrog" line. The mystery has been buggin' me for years.

Why was the curiculum down south meant to mortify? In 6th grade, we had to each sing a solo of God Bless America in front of the music class, into a tape recorder. If singing it wasn't bad enough, having to sit and listen to it again afterwards was cruel and unusual.

Mr. Rolle must die. Actually, I think he did.

Nah - I was just messin around. Reading a book doesn't make you intelligent.

As for "Jeremiah was a bull frog" I only found out about a month ago that Hoyt Axton wrote that song and that his mother wrote Heartbreak Hotel. Pretty cool.

greg - just keep ignoring her and keep raising the volume of the tv everytime she starts a new sentence. That should do the trick.

yeah, Greg, you're making occasional eye contact aren't you? Nodding occasionally? But not too much, good god, I did that nodding thing too much once and ended up agreeing to go to shopping for kitchen accessories with my mother in law.
