It's being reported that Mick's new single will have a "special remix" made by a Brazilian DJ named Alok. According to the article, this "special remix" will be posted this week on Mick's YouTube account.

"England Lost" has a little hint of his "Too much blood" voice. Funny. I think I like it better than "Grip."

Thanks KRiffhard.

Didn't watch Getta Grip video, just listened (twice), and upon first listen I'm pleasantly pleased.

First impressions:
Mick's vocals are good, lyrics aren't that great, a bit repetitive, and overall a bit derivative. Nice groove and atmosphere though.
Not sure how many times I'll be able to listen to it as it's a bit monotonous...the upcoming remix might add something special to give it a bit more life.

Thanks Mick, and happy birthday...again!

Thanks Cristiano. thumbs up

"England Lost" feels like an update of "Rain Fall Down," sonically speaking. I like the idea of cultural commentary smuggled into a soccer metaphor. Mick has something to say, but, as is his wont, chooses to wear it lightly.

My thoughts as well, and upon first listen I like it better than Getta Grip...there's a nice funkiness to it.
Like Rain Fall Down though, not sure how long the "thrill" will last in listening to it.

Listening to England Lost Skepta version now...if you like rap this might do it for you.

One things certain, there's quite a lot of remixes and versions of Getta Grip and England Lost to digest which is probably a good thing.

Listening to Getta Grip Kevin Parker remix now...hmmm...doesn't much improve anything like I thought it might.
Will listen to more later, can only take so much in one sitting.

I am thinking the ballerina and the new baby has Mick's juices flowing. Being a father again etc. If he can father a child at 72 he is capable of putting out a new single complete with disco (YE-HAW!!) remixes.

Now i understand Keith's "Being prolific don't mean shit".
Really poor songs.

Thanks mucho CR! Gotta Get a Grip and England Lost both have some social commentary. I heard the words "refugee" and "immigration" I cannot make out what ol Mick is saying but I heard these words. Of course Mick will straddle the fence on these issues...he always hedges and dodges. It's a way of life for him.

I like them both, but I am really glad these are the new Mick Jagger songs and not the new Stones songs!

Yes, thanks to Cristiano, as always, for having his finger firmly on the pulse!

These are hardly rap songs. Thank Clapton for that. If you avoid the Skepta version, "England Lost" also plays better. That said, Mick's lyrics and his affected Cockney make it sound a bit like a Bill Wyman solo tune. Glad to see them both. Interesting these are Promotone and not Jagged Recordings.

My sincere apologies to Mel Belli for doubting your source. It appears they were right on the money.

I like Grip, listening two times to it.Really fine.
England lost says a lot, rather boring.
Haven't paid attention to the remixes yet.
Guess I have to force myself to the Matt Clifford remix...

Gotta Get A Grip sounds good, really catchy -- but I can see why it wouldn't work as a Stones tune... though I kind of wish they could have made it work. It's a bit out of their realm, but then so was Fingerprint File.

The video's terrible, has absolutely nothing to do with the song, but then again what video ever has?

On MickJagger.com, the copy claims it is "the debut solo single by Mick Jagger." Apparently this is a different Mick Jagger from the guy who did all those other solo releases. As always, they could actually hire people who know something of the artist's history or are professional enough to ask someone who would know.
