Very sad news.

"Everyone else wanted to be Elvis—I wanted to be Scotty." - Keith

RIP Scottie Moore.

The hero of all of our great 2nd generation of rock and roll guitar heroes. The guitar that changed the world. One of the main foundations of the entire genesis and history of rock and roll itself. Yes there was Carl Perkins and Ike Turner and Chuck and others who made a huge stamp and they are each unequalled in their own way.
That early Elvis Sun and RCA stuff is still so ultra modern and ahead of it's time for all time. Today I watched (and listened) to videos of him playing throughout all the eras with everybody so charmed to meet him and play with him. People like Beck, Page, Clapton, Ron Wood, Bill Wyman, Albert Lee etc. and I've watched him very many times with Elvis today as well. Elvis started it all in so many ways and Scotty was a big part of every part of that. Anyone who ever listened to or enjoyed rock and roll or rockabilly in any form owes this man gratitude and honor. I think it would be safe to say there would have never been a Beatles or Stones without him paving the way, making lead guitar the key element of a rock and roll band in the first place. For almost everyone. How many generations over the last 61 years and counting. How many kazillions hours of airtime and kazillion world wide record sales for a kazillion years to come. RIP

What a sad loss. "Mystery Train", "My Baby Left Me" and so on and so on, just incredible guitar playing alongside a truly wonderful voice, will never be equalled.

Keith Records: "Everyone else wanted to be Elvis. I wanted to be Scotty."

God bless him. The man that guided the modern guitar sound. Keith, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck - so many of the great guitarists who emerged in the 60s were directly influenced by him. A sad loss but thanks for the music Scotty. RIP.

Scotty Moore built the foundation for rock 'n roll lead guitar playing. Without him a lot of things in rock music wouldn't have happened. His playing influenced legends.

Thank you for all the great music.

Rest in Peace.

Hamburg 1998: Ronnie pulled Scotty on stage in front of 90.000 people.
"It´s Scotty Moore!" But only a few recognized him. But we did! One
of the most important R&R guitarists ever has taken the Mystery Train.

RIP
