This might turn into a pissing contest... Of course photographic memory of a four digit number of shows I have attended with every single act there is I think I am missing only a very few like Elvis and Lennon and Hendrix. I did even see Mick Taylor performing two different shows on the very same day in Denmark, one in Copenhagen and one in the north of Denmark, remember every bit of it from the flight to the train rides to the performance to the going home bit, or my first Stones show in 1973, or my last Stones show in 2016, or the many shows with Peter Gabriel including his first solo tour, or the last ever Mike And The Mechanics show at Shepherds Bush, or Elton John Las Vegas Feb 14, 1998, or the Stones at the Joint the next day, or the Phoenix club show August 10, 2006. And so on and on. My DNA has probably mutated over the years. I am a useless zombie at home but I do know what is going on at shows.

I actually keep a concert journal. My list is a little over 100 so won't bore you guys by transcribing. I usually note venue, date, who I attended with, and something interesting (good or bad)that might have occurred. Ex:singer fell down, drunk guy a few rows up puked, hot chick starts randomly making out with me so I can sneak her into 2nd row Stones MSG smiling smiley Pre internet days I also used to jot down opening and closing song. Setlist FM put an end to that.
Was mildly disappointed when the 100 show milestone was represented by Motley Cruw , I should have planned better!

I've pretty much seen all the major rock acts that I want to see except ZZ Top.

Of course, I missed out on Elvis, Jimi, and Lennon due to my age.

I have absolutely no fetish for live shows. I much prefer to listen to a tape or an official record than going to a gig. I did attend quite a few concerts in my life including Stones shows but there's not a single one where I can say to myself "whoa that was memories for a whole lifetime". None!

Please tell me I am normal... grinning smiley

I'm extremely jealous of anyone who got to see Led Zeppelin or The Who while Keith Moon was still alive. I only ever saw The Who on their 1989 Join Together Tour, which I enjoyed although it was rather atypical for The Who to employ something like 39 musicians and an elephant to recreate their studio records....

Saw Zeppelin in 72 & 75 and the Who in 74 (all in NY). I'm jealous of BluzDude - 18x for Zeppelin!

Saw Zeppelin at Boston Garden when LZ III came out ('71? - I was about 11, my older brother took me) and at MSG in '75 and '77. Saw the Who w. Moon a couple times too. And as to the OT, I have a list of every show - several hundred long.

Thanks to every one who posted here. Very cool to see how lucky some of you have been. I've only seen about 30 shows but still I feel lucky to have seen the Stones, The Who, Bob Dylan, Keith solo, Mick Taylor with John Mayall, Clapton, CSN....I've had quality if not quantity.

I see live music about 40 times a year. I've seen nearly everyone I wanted to, notable exceptions being Tom Waits and Nirvana (too late for that one). I've saved the ticket stub for every show where I got one since my first concert (Mountain NYC 12/31/73). I pretty much remember all of 'em.

I can't list them all, but when I hear someone I've seen I can recall something about the concert.

I do have 99% of my ticket stubs, I'd have to list them all.

Between those, free events, music festivals, I've probably been to 300+ shows!

Until recently, I was sure to remember every concert I ever saw, though it could be up to a thousand over the last forty years (well, maybe 500).
I`ve got tickets for Black Sabbath in Vienna in June, as I was certain never to have witnessed them before. Friend of mine just assured me, I DID see them in the seventies, in their incarnation with Ian Gillan as singer. No memory, completely wiped. Probably for the better...

Gillan fronted Sabbath in the early '80s...Born Again came out in 1983.

...thanks for the correction. It´s a bit of a blur, god knows what else I got wrong. But I`m guite sure it was in Düsseldorf, on a bill with many other acts, and quite unremarkable.

I remember a Queen concert from (I think 1979). We were 4th row center, it a was spectacular rocking great time. Back then I used to take(sneak) my 35mm camera in to all the shows and take great shots of everyone, and that night I took a ton of awesome pictures.

I was excited to see them (back in the day it took a week to get your color pictures back from the lab) but when I when to pick them up the guy said there would be no charge, which sounded good at first, but then he said... "no charge because the roll was empty".

That night I remember dealing with security and opening my camera to show them yadda yadda yadda... and when later I went to re-attach the film I did not properly attach the roll to the spooler. It was heart breaking, but it was the only time it ever happened.

The good part is I can recall what a lot of those pictures looked like (in my mind) from when I took them... and years later I obtained not only great pictures someone else took of that tour, but also the full concert on video.
