It was the second album I got after I discovered the band in the early 80s. I thought
a compilation album would be a good way to get to know the band and its music. I really
had no idea at the time of the history of the band, nor what music they created between
1966 and 1980. So it was kind of an adventure to listen to this album and Emotional
Rescue and figure out it was the same band (well with one different guitar player of course).
But what a great compilation of songs it is!
Everybody who claims the "golden era" of the band started with Jumpin' Jack Flash,
is proven wrong with this compilation. It reflects an era that is not just gold.
It's brilliant!

BTW, The version I bought in 1980 in The Netherlands had the same album cover as the US version,
but the track list was the same as the UK version. Is that a continental European version?

What's the colour on the flipside?

Ahhh, shame shame shame on my. I hadn't checked it for a long time, though I had the album
in my hands during all these early years of my puberty (until I discovered the album)
sleeves of Sheena Easton... oops
and apparently I got things mixed up a bit. The picture of the US version was on the
back side and the fish eye lense picture with Bill and his moustache were on the front
side. It was a folded album cover, with the LP in one side and the book with pictures
in the other side.
Label was Decca TXS 101

An interresting fact:
At Exhibitionism, the original proposed UK tracklist was exposed.
"I Wanna Be Your Man", the only missing british A side on the album, was originally included as the next to last track. The title was crossed over with a pen on the paper from Imidate, and replaced with Time Is On My Side.
Something tells me, they didn't want to pay those royalities...

Well might be true, if anyone ever claimed that. I don't recall reading such a claim...

Just wade your way through all the 68-72-posts, where some take it for granted that this was the band's golden era
