The harp player I played with at the time used to rehearse to this song. He had it on repeat in his car, and played while he drove. It made me crazy, but it also made him a great harp player

A nice B-side, nothing more.

Wasn't it on that rare 1990 compilation too with other "gems" like "Cook Cook Blues"? That compilation was interesting because it gave the recording dates and confirmed CCB was not from the SW sessions. I thought WINY might be the same but apparently not if not Nico would have the info on his site.

Nothing special about that track but still exciting to find out that Terrifying had an unreleased BSide, they got my money for the tiny CD Single!

Definitely B-side material, but still enjoyably languid and bluesy, with pungent, cutting lyrics.

Is that Cook Cook Blues-credit correct? I thought it was recorded in November-December 1982..

are we sure it´s charlie on drums?
for me it sounds more like ronnie (like the sleep tonight drums)
because it is too "less tight" for charlie and the breaks (there aren´t that many) for example at 2:34 is more lke the final dirty work track with ronnie on drums….what do u think?

Fancy Man and Cook Cook were the better bluesy bsides for that album. But as Dandelion stated "A nice B-side, nothing more."

"Wish I'd Never Met You" was "Call Girl Blues" during the STEEL WHEELS recording sessions. Bill noted the song ended up with completely different lyrics while he was on his honeymoon with Mandy.

This just came up on my randomly shuffling playlist! Good bluesy tune!

Oh no not more confusion about "Call Girl Blues"! For some silly reason Karnbach claimed in his book that "Call Girl Blues" was the working title "Cook Cook Blues" (a song from 1985 according to the Collector's Editions notes) while Mick himself had said during a 1989 interview to the NME (or ME) that it was the working title of "Break The Spell".

When the SW sessions got leaked by bwaudby in 2006 his C90 cassette listed a song called "Call Girl Blues" and...you guessed it it was "Break the Spell" ;-)

@FoolToCry - I would tend to place WINMY as a Paris 1985 track too...

Interesting thought - Hmmm...I don't hear Charlie's trademark of not hitting the hi-hat on the snare beats. Inquiring minds want to know...

This tune is similar - yet better, than the inferior Back of My Hand.

I like this one along with Cook Cook Blues and Fancy Man Blues. I actually like it better than some of the songs that are on Steel Wheels.

I wish they would have released Your Precious Love as a b side back then. That song is one of my favorites from them. Unfortunately the bootleg versions I've heard have a lot of hiss.
