Corporate Mick - 1989 Thru Today - Mick's Black Pants

Since the emergence of the Corporate Rolling Stones in 1989...Has Mick Jagger ever performed a show not wearing black pants?

The reason I ask is that he always mixed colors up on previous tours but I can't recall him not wearing black since 1989.

I'm sure I don't have this right...but someone please correct me.

Thanks.

Corp Mick will never ever wear his lemon yellow pants again. Not in public.

Of course.
Phoenix Theatre in 2005 comes immediately to my mind.

Does the 2005 Julliard performance/press conference count? He wore brown trousers for that.
And at the first Fenway show in 2005 he had blue trousers on.
It seems the start of the 2005 tour was sort of a break-out period for the Mick :E

But the black ones go with everything else he feels like putting on, from houndstooth jackets
to silver lame to OTT floral embroidery to tshirts to red feather capes
so I'd say he's on to something, bless his face

Same for most of us - I own at least a half dozen pair of black pants that I wear at work and if I'm not in black pants, I'm usually in black tights.

Mick is an old show business pro. His costumes have always been both beautiful and practical. Save for that silly, impractical red featherly thing he wears during Sympathy, which is obviously a tribute to L'Wren.

Well, remember Mick wore a skirt over his black pants for a few songs on the Voodoo Lounge tour. On the Miami PPV DVD, he had a little black skirt on for Jumpin' Jack Flash. I remember watching it with my buddies in college and they were making fun of him and I kept saying, "Nah, it's gotta be a t-shirt tied around his waist."

Nope...it was a skirt. He talked about it with Ed Bradley on their 60 Minutes interview.

That's about the only thing I can remember him wearing that was weird below the waist post-89.

I remember in an interview that Jagger said that when he takes the stage prefer to wear very comfortable pants, coverall only way you feel at ease, why not wearing jeans

Interesting article about how L'wren worked closely w/ Mick to create his recent tour wardrobe (starting w/ O2 in Nov 2012): [wwd.com]

Excerpts about the black trousers:

MICK: “I think about parts of the show. The show has a beginning, so it’s very important to make an entrance. If there’s a second act where the lights or the scene changes, it’s good to have a different [look]. I don’t get time to change my pants really. So the pants stay. So they’ve got to be supercomfy, and not cause me problems. I might change my coat or shirts,” Jagger adds.

L"WREN: "...J Brand made the jeans to order after Scott whittled 20 styles down to six. “They’re making specific jeans for the show. They have a lot of stretch and are incredibly lightweight. They have to be lightweight. Once we get the fit right we make multiples.” ..."

BTW, I LOVED the black kilt style skirt that Mick wore over skinny black trousers on the VL tour - he worked it!
