For some strange reason Jump Back is the #1 album on Poland this week, maybe some TV special or something.

I think it must be a c***ck up or something like this. In actual fact Stones are not that popular here as they deserve and hardly anybody knows more than one or two titles of their songs. So I don't imagine people now rushing to buy "Jump Back" - yet I will drop by to local Media Markt store tomorrow and see whether Jump Back will be on the shelves at all...

Such surge in sales usually happens if there is a promotion in one of the major retail outlets - Empik. I remember it happened before, don't remember the cd though.

They advertise the cd at the cashier box so whoever buys stuff is encouraged by the sales person to buy it. Might pay a visit today and see if that's the case.

Yeah but would a checkout offer send it to #1?
That plus a ban on all other discs maybe :E

Tomek, you're hanging in the wrong circles. People around here love the Stones! I make sure of it :E

Sometimes big companies buy CDs as a giveaway gift for their employees on formal parties etc. Probably some company decided to buy Jump Back and give it away. In these days record sales are so low that even if they bought 1000-2000 copies it could be enough to put the record on #1 in a country with a small market.

It's even more baffling that it (if so) was Jump Back they bought for their employees...

Jump back is very cheap at all main stores - Media Markt, Saturn, Empik. You can find it in advert papers also and that's all. It's probably one week shot. I agree that Stones are not so popular in Poland as they should be. But last two shows were over 50.000 people so it's not so bad.

Well, the Stones are not so popular anywhere as they should be -
but a lot of humans have a hard time appreciating when they're blessed, for some reason

with sssoul:

"Well, the Stones are not so popular anywhere as they should be..."

They have sold over 260 million copies worldwide, they have attracted over 40 million people at their concerts (and still counting). No complaints...

According to the Discogs site, its had a recent re-release in Russia.
Probably no connection though.
You wonder who makes these decisions. Universal? Promotone?

I recall JUMP BACK climbed up the Billboard 200 in... 2004? After FORTY LICKS! I found that astounding.

I think I recall seeing the Virgin release still in stores just a few years ago, after the UMe reissue fiasco.

Jump Back was first released on the US on 2004, it was available as import back then, the import version has sold 250k while the US version has sold more than 1.5 million copies since 2004 reaching #30 on the Billboard 200 with over a year on the chart.

Jump Back was first released on the US on 2004

And then it was remastered and reissued in 2009
this time around with liner notes about each track by Mick & Keith

That would be cool, I had a great time in Prague, during my 14 On Fire tour/Eurotrip.
