Maybe it was there originally for "Let it Bleed" - the pedal steel, I mean.

Hmmm...may be they thought about it. Ron never did use it for LIB on other shows though.

yes ExileStones.

that is the picutre!

Guess RW was prepared to use the pedal steel in Buffalo. I was at the Philly show & don't remember seeing it there (but wasn't looking for it either!) but dont recall any other pictures of it onstage in 81-82.

I wrote to my buddy Dan who is well-versed in the 1981 tour.

Here's what he said about the pedal steel:

On 05/04/16, DAN wrote:

Perhaps they rehearsed a version of Let It Bleed using the pedal steel....??????
I NEVER have heard ANY use of that on the tapes/CD we have of the tour
I remember getting the Buffalo a few days after the Stones shows in LA. I kept waiting for Bill to do Je Sius Un Rock Star in the Buffalo set as Jagger announced/teased from the stage. I was mad Tops was dropped before LA too!

I wrote:

Yeah, I love Tops live, as you say, "warts and all!" At least we have a decent recording of it. Maybe they'll bring it back. Who ever thought the Stones would ever do "Worried About You" live?

The pedal steel is a mystery.

PHILADELPHIA

"In support of the last great Stones album, Tattoo You, the boys open their US tour in Philadelphia at JFK Stadium.
This was the first time I saw the Stones. Up to this time I was a Beatles freak and didn't really understand why the Stones were
called , "The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World." During this show, specifically during a 9 minute plus version
of Jumpin' Jack Flash, I figured it out. After that show I became a Rolling Stones freak." Paul Atlobelli

Funny to see those pictures again. And I saw them in Gothenburg 1982.

I was at Cleveland 3 weeks ago and visited Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame and saw Jagger's 1981 pants - the pants looked quite worn out.

I enjoyed it too. I am remiss for not writing "Special Thanks to Palace Revolution 2000 and Jean Marie."

Can anyone tell/guess which concert this photo was taken by looking at the background? Thank you.

Muddy Waters & The Rolling Stones - Baby Please Don't Go - Live At Checkerboard Lounge

VIDEO: [www.youtube.com]

On 22 November 1981, in the middle of their mammoth American tour, the Rolling Stones arrived in Chicago prior to playing 3 nights at the Rosemont Horizon.

Long influenced by the Chicago blues, the band paid a visit to Buddy Guy's club the Checkerboard Lounge to see the legendary bluesman perform.

It didn't take long before Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Ian Stewart were joining in on stage and later Buddy Guy and Lefty Dizz also played their part. It was a unique occasion that was fortunately captured on camera.

Now, restored from the original footage and with sound mixed and mastered by Bob Clearmountain.
