...to answer my own question: Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars. (Nothing that will keep me awake anyway.)

If you are struggling to stay awake to watch the super bowl then you will definitely fall asleep when Coldplay come on.

Nate >grinning smiley<

But maybe a major wardrobe malfunction for Beyonce is worth staying up for?

Sound turned up on the iPad with the Stones on Periscope, sound turned off on the football game on the tv and Downton Abbey recording on the dvr.

One must multitask. smiling smiley

Thank goodness The Walking Dead is waiting a week to resume.

Original X Files reruns, especially the first five seasons. Updated X Files...meh...though episode 3 was good. Reminded me and others of the original series.

thumbs up
The 3rd one really was as good as any Xfiles ever.. an instant classic... it was packed with so many things... concepts... one liners... gags... X-Filey type of stuff and even some "Night Stalker Kochak stuff... it was so much fun I rewatched it 3 times this week.

The half time show sucked. Coldplay was boring, and played too short. Bruno Mars and Beyonce were entertaining but totally pointless.

I thought it was a good game. I'm glad Denver won. Cam Newton and his showboating got it shoved in their faces. Not only do they lose the game, but they lose face by acting so cocky. Peyton Manning acted like a complete gentlemen. You would hope that type of behavior would rub off on these narcissistic players. That is how a certain group of players play the game.

Now to watch the replays of the periscope feeds.

That was the worst Halftime show in decades.

All the NFL accomplished with that colorful mess was to further drive a dagger into the Rock N' Roll industry.

Watch Chelsea Man Utd at 16:00 GMT instead of the Super Bowl.

Problem solved.

Maybe you'll get lucky & have one of those really scintillating 0-0 games.grinning smiley

The dullest 0-0 game ever could not match the Superbowl for pure mind-numbing tedium. I love sport but how anyone can watch NFL is beyond me.

And our feeling about soccer is mutual. Personally I would rather watch paint dry, than be bored to tears watching the great planet pastime. Since ya'll are so clever, explain the point in having a Jumbo Tron scoreboard, with instant replay no less, in stadiums were games in in ties? Without a winner, it's ain't a sport pal. It's gym class.

NFL regular season games can end in a tie so what is your point?

It wasn't THAT bad a show. Very Disney like, as I said. They've never billed it as a pure rock and roll show anyway, to my recollection. It's supposed to be kinda schmaltzy entertainment for the masses at home. It actually reminded me this year of an Olympic opening ceremony. I think it fails when it they attempt to make it something else...the edgy shows always seem laughable to me. They usually just reek of trying to hard to be cool. At least this one wasn't pretending to be anything more than a fun, forgettable break. Anyways, I do have a soft spot for Bruno Mars...uptown funk you up. smileys with beer

In the past I have seen people complain about the Stones or Springsteen Superbowlperformances which I thought were fine for what they were, and I try to not be to critical of things, but this clusterfuk yesterday... what in the world were they going for?

This thing yesterday seemed like they took all the marketing demographics of what some people like and what sells and what is coming out soon and new tours to be marketed, combined it with Beyonce making her statement about black power (and that is NOT ME saying that, Beyounce says that is what she was going for ) shoved it into a circus cannon along with some colorful explosions and blasted it all up at one time hoping it would work.. and I guess some people liked it.

HAH! Pretty good description there, west1. Yeah, I guess some people did like it. I was mildly entertained (I do like pretty colors grinning smiley) for a few minutes and then promptly forgot about it...until some of you started complaining. winking smiley

Anyway, back to the Stones for me. smileys with beer

I watched a replay of it and thought it was very meh. However, I thought the stage was cool with all of the colors. Did it look that way in the stadium?

I thought Lady Gaga did a great job with the national anthem. She looked cool too.
