Concerning the gear -pictures of the 1969 sessions show Vox AC30's, Vox Supreme, small WEM amps and a large HiWatt DR-103 head and cab. Fender amps do not seem to appear until 1970. I have no clue what amp Cooder used on this track, but if I had to guess it would be something relatively small, like a WEM.

A Fender Showman is shown in spring 1969.

They used Fender amps on the TAMI-show as well, but I take it you mean in the studio.

They've always used Fender amps when in the US, both in studio and live. But as Fender (and Gibson) products where difficult to buy in the UK until the mid to late 1960's the emphasis when recording and playing live in the UK was on UK made amps. That changed in 1970, when they seemed to quite abruptly change to Ampeg and Fender amps solely.
