What I mean is: They have done the blues. Not much to add there really. It's a passed stage, so to speak. I think even Sir Michael would agree with this.

Maybe Sir Michael would agree, but Mick Jagger and Keith Richards certainly won't.

The way THE ROLLING STONES play the BLUES is here to stay.

"Recently" Mick reworked two great bluessongs from the 1977-78 sessions with new lyrics and vocals for SOME GIRLS DELUXE in 2011:

WHEN YOU'RE GONE and KEEP UP BLUES.

Just play these two songs 20 times in a row.

Then if you had your dose of BLUES play DOOM & GLOOM 20 times.

YOU WILL BE HEALED BY THE ROLLING STONES Mr. Stoneage.

Let's hope so then. Give me 10 groundbreaking blues or soul numbers a la Exile on Main Street and I will change my mind!

Nobody can expect something groundbreaking anymore. We will be lucky to get a decent album with a few real highlights. If it´s somewhere between DW and ABB, I´ll be satisfied. In this fast-spinning world unfortunately the album will be forgotten soon enough. Nobody cares anymore, if people dont like a record they shelve it and never give it a second chance, what a pity...

That's right, HMS. Give me ten decent generic Stones songs and I will be more than happy. And why not one hit song? It's been 35 years since the last one....

You really live in the stone age Mr. Stoneage.

A hit... HAHAHAHAHA....

THE ROLLING STONES don't need a hit in 2016.

COME ON ! They needed this hit in 1963.

And became THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND IN THE WORLD.

Edit: DOOM & GLOOM was a hit.

With the fast flowing media of today hits are even more important than what they used to be. Few have the patience to listen to full albums anymore.

If they are not in there already ... I'm sure they are very ready to get in there and work on and finish the album.

Let's face it... They already got a good start on it and now they have a solid month or so to record some more.. and another month to mix it.

That's still plenty of time... BUT they can't wait tooooooo friggin long if they want this out by mid fall (October) ..So I'm sure they are ready to really get to the meat and potatoes of this thing at this point.

Oh boy, this is getting cryptic...

I'll be back when the album is out.

No s*$t. How can we discuss an album, for 86 pages no less!, that no one with any real juice knows crap about? They always keep the lid on these things until they want to tell us.

Really....loads of speculation but none of us will know ANYTHING till some new music by The Rolling Stones finally hits the eardrums! THEN, we'll have something to talk about! Till then...all speculation and wishes...

Disagree. There are ways to find things out.

Hi Roller...give us some news! winking smiley

The Worst.
Did Crosseyed Heart sound like a spoilt millionaire to you Stoneage?

Hmm, well what did Keith say on the topic?

"Got the blues in the morning but babe they last too long
I don't care 'cause I'm a billionaire"

Crosseyed Heart.... boring? Really???????

A stunning return to form IMHO.

I'd like to hear a new album, with the first album re-recorded and thrown in as a bonus disc. That would be fun.

I think the biggest barrier to the band producing a 'classic Rolling Stones album' is Mick's reluctance to spends hours/days playing the same song over and over. They've always been the same in the studio by all accounts. The worst band in the world for hours on end and then they suddenly click, and capture something special. Imagine if Mick had brought a demo of 'Sympathy' to the studio all those years ago. The magic would never have happened. I'm not knocking him - he's just at a different stage of life and wants to get the job done quicker.

Whatever it is I'm sure I'll enjoy it and I'm damn glad they are recording again.

Oh please no.. Please let Keith do a new barbarians CD..please don't let him play anymore..it's awful..let Mick and Charlie carry on, let Rinnie do the Faces tour..and let's get on with it..Keih is a icon.. But frankly at this point, the most expendable of the 4..sorry BV the boy stinks live anymore! He can't play..only poses!bye Keith, besides the next record will be from Mick's collection of home studio..Keith put out a new CD last year..I needed a 8ball to revive me it was sooooo boring!

Find another band, you got lost smiling smiley

I don't know if its a fair comparison, but Clapton's new album was recorded over a 3 month period, October to December and "finished off" in January.
Mick has shown in the past he can produce an album in a short time scale.
Keith's work habits are less certain, CH was completed over a ?2 year or so time scale. Stones commitments were used as the reason, but I don't think that stands up to scrutiny.

Why must you diss the production capabilities of someone you know zip about?

I want their new album crisp and clean! Such as Tattoo You or even Bush Doctor by Peter Tosh (2000 Re-mastered) are how albums cds, whatever media should sound like. I need to feel like I'm with them in the studio.

The best they could do is an blues/roots album. On their first albums they did many various wonderful stuff:

- pure blues
- Hooker boogie
- soul ballads
- Chuck Berry style
- Bo Diddly style
- Elmore James style

Here some wishes:
- Do some jamming songs with Mick Taylor, Ry Cooder, sax solos, ...!
- Do some duetts or trios on a few songs! Only Mick and Keith f.example; or Keith and Charlie!
- I love Mick on Harp! Keith could sing and Mick plays fill-ins on harp!
- No more boring Keith-ballads please!

To fulfill the circle, they should please do that again! Put some fast rockers, too on that album an it would be perfect!

And yes! Crossed H. was mostly boring!

I agree with one thing , Mick will do some duets or trios, but only with women. The rest you are saying about your wishes is bullshit.
