Makes me think they should have released the audio of the Feb. 27 show as a part of the SA.
Same for Hampton : they should have released the audio of the 1981 Dec. 19 show in audio form in conjonction with the PPV dvd...

So this is just the DVD/Blu Ray release of the same music that was released in 2012?

Also, is all the music from the February 26th show or were some tracks taken from other dates at that venue, didn't they play like 4 nights there?

Nice catch alfstone.

At this point, there's very little they can surprise us with in the video department that isn't floating around in bootleg form as torrents or on Youtube.

C'mon - surprise me...

They could surprise me with the complete Fonda show.

Concentrating on 90 and not 95?
Are they oblivious to their own legacy shows?

Re: Next Vault release......Tokyo ´90

A mediocre 1990, and the poorest of all the archive releases, imo. But even the bootleg video sounded better than the digital release, so it will be an improvement, I guess.

Will be more more kick a ss spanish guitar from Keith on this one winking smiley

Ah...!!! The complaining!!!

Look guys, the majority of the vault releases will be what was released on Google Play online a couple of years back. Tokyo 1990 has been slated for release for a long time, so I can't understand all the moaning when we all knew it was coming anyway. Be patient, and there will be lots of material available over the next years.

Planned releases are:

Brussels Affair 1973
Leeds 1982
Light The Fuse 2005

How they will put Brussels out it anyone's guess, but the rest will be released on cd and dvd/blueray.

Re: Next Vault release......Tokyo ´90

Brussels? It is out on cd/lp already. No video available, or is it after all?

How did we know that Tokyo and the others were slated for release in dvd/lp physical formats, btw? It's logical, yes, but I haven't seen a release plan for those shows.

I bought Tokyo 90 on DVD a few years ago and the quality was very poor with garish colours all over the screen and the music was at times out of sync. How comes it gets released again may i ask?

The copy you bought was a bootleg.

That was no official release. It must have been videotaped from japanese televison. It´s horrible indeed and maybe they filmed it directly from TV-screen... This time the quality will be fantastic, I suppose.

This is the video that accompanied the original download-only release in 2012.

If they continue to throw in surprises like the Marquee or Sticky Fingers deluxe stuff everything is fine.
Tokyo '90 isn't that kind of.
At least Matt Clifford finally gets an official full show participation release.

Do you think this is likely be filmed in a similar way to Live at the Max?

Or was the peculiarity of that release owing to the medium in which it was filmed?

I think Tokyo '90 is a real Live-Show, while 'Live At The Max' wasn't filmed entirely live: [www.iorr.org] .

I've espoused the view before, a view which has on occasion been met with scorn and derision, that the Stones' finest decade as a live act began in 1994.

So I agree: a 1995 performance would be more welcome, but that's not to say this release is unwelcome.

Olly, have you heard the 1995 Paradiso show music? Just fantastic! I think you would love it.

How about unnecessary...can we call it that?

Yes, I agree, although all club or arena shows during that ten year stretch must have been fantastic.

Having said that, I'm always more excited by the Stones in large venues.

As long as there are people collecting bad sounding audience-taped shows, how could a release in brilliant quality be unnecessary...

I wouldn't go that far: it documents the band's first tour of Japan and the final tour to feature Wyman.

I'm hoping it will offer something different from Live at the Max, in that it won't feature any 'added' footage and may be filmed differently.

I may pass on this one. Atlantic City 89 would have been a better choice to release than this one. IMHO, I thought the Stones were smoking at Atlantic City-very high energy and great versions of many tunes-including Midnight Rambler. Tokyo 1990 pales by comparison.

That is true. Definitely one of the better tunes (and arguably one of their best ballads in many a year).
