Great tune! "I'm tired, tired of doing what I'm told" ... haven't played it in a while, I'll have to give it a whirl today.

Like Dance Pt1 and If I Was A Dancer it is great, terrific, fantastic. Much too good to end up on a b-side.
Maybe it would have been a good idea to put it on the Emotional Rescue album.

Ah, Emotional Rescue, very much like Dirty Work another underrated classic!

Everything's Turning To Gold is a winner. It should have been on Some Girls instead of Lies and it certainly should have been on the bonus disc of SOME GIRLS DELUXE, maybe replacing Claudine as the opening song.

Stones at their most fantastic...using three writers

Really like this tune - don't think the Stones made a mistake by keeping it as a B-side though.

I think it would've made a nice C-side

imagine how good it would sound if they included all the band, including backup singers, horns & keyboards ie Chuck Leavell!

Oh wait, didn't they do that already with Back To Zero?!

BTW, love Everything Turns To Gold!

One of the best with Ronnie. It's got groove and feeling. Nice bridge, harp, nice guitars, great vocals.

Great stones song for me!

It's got something of the Pretty Beat Up groove, the shaking diddley boogie woogie and another RW songcredit.
I Like both songs very much, always gotta make some moves around the place with those two, do a little airguitar and put on Hey Negrita next.

Always thought of this one as Ronnie transitioning from the Faces (You Can Make Me Dance) to the Stones (Undercover of the Night).

Never heard this song before, but I am listening now thru YouTube.
You are right! Listen to the intro. Funky groovy going on... now it's getting boring ... the "Keep On Loving Me" bit.
The intro sticks in the mind though! smileys with beer

Although I agree in principle....the dark suit would need to be Gold as of course everything has turned...

I love this song, it brings back great memories of the time.

Let's put this song in perspective, as it was released as a non album b-side, but unlike other non album b-sides preceeding it, it was released 6 months after Some Girls was released. To me that was the excitement, having loved Some Girls, to me my favorite album of all time, then six months later we got to hear more from those sessions. That was the big treat for me.

Through The Lonely Nights 4 years earlier, was released at the same time as It's Only Rock N Roll album, Child Of The Moon had no album with the A side, Who's Driving My Plane had no album with the A side, Sad Day also no album with the A side.

Technically All Down The Line 7 inch version was a non album b side but the song was on Exile and it's A side Happy was released only a few months after Exile.

Sway a non album b-side technically due to the alternate version was released a few months after Sticky Fingers as the b side to Wild Horses, but Sway was on Sticky Fingers.

I think I'm Going Mad is kind of like Everything Is Turning To Gold as it was a non album b side to She Was Hot, and released 2 months after Undercover.

Fancy Man Blues was the b side to Mixed Emotions but was released at the same time as Steel Wheels. There are other Modern day non album b sides, but my point is that Everything Is Turning To Gold was the first time we heard a non album b side so much later than the album that it was a real treat.

It's what the engineer says before the take on the bootleg of take 1. Not that notable really. Just a name I picked for the Shidoobee site I joined first and I carried it over here.
