How cool is that !

You get the feeling he knew the moment he was going to meet them I'm sure.

What a fantastic experience to win a competition to go to Exhibitionism in London, and you meet 4 music icons in your favourite band.

This also happened in Abu Dhabi to a devoted Stones fan who a few of us know on IORR.
She said it was a complete surprise to her until an hour or two before she met them. smileys with beer

To be fair, so is 90 % of New York smiling smiley But I live in hope... he's definitely not the biggest fan if he says he didn't know about Exhibitionism at all though!

Going on Thursday after work, they are doing late openings Thursdays and Saturdays now. About 10 minutes walk from the office. Have a ticket for August, but I might go again or if I can't go give it to a friend.

‘Exhibitionism – The Rolling Stones’

A new book accompanies the landmark exhibition about the legendary rock ‘n’ roll band.

For over five decades, the Rolling Stones have continually reinvented themselves as musicians, performers and cultural icons, transforming music, art, fashion and popular culture in the process. This incredible legacy is explored in Exhibitionism – The Rolling Stones, the major exhibition that recently opened at London’s Saatchi Gallery. Pentagram’s Abbott Miller and William Russell have collaborated on the design of the exhibition, which is produced, originated and conceptualised by Tony Cochrane and Thea Jeanes-Cochrane of IEC Exhibitions and curated by Ileen Gallagher. As part of the project, Miller and his team have also designed Exhibitionism – The Rolling Stones, the book that accompanies the show.

Exhibitionism is the most comprehensive and immersive insight to date into the career of the legendary group that has been called “The Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band.” Pentagram worked closely with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts (whose first job was working as a graphic designer for Bob Gill, one of Pentagram’s founding partners). Synthesizing environments, objects, media and sound, Miller and Russell have designed a dramatic experience that captures the revolutionary spirit of the Stones. Comprising 20,000 square feet, on two floors of the Saatchi Gallery, the exhibition presents an engaging narrative journey through the band’s 50-year career, told through a series of thematic installations that includes, among others, a recreation of their infamous first apartment on Edith Grove in Chelsea and a gallery that delivers a sense of the band’s incredible stage presence.

Really enjoyed it spent a couple of hours in there. Loved Keith"s diaries and the studio part. Would have been great if they could have incorporated the original restored mobile studio into the exhibition. But I guess it was not possible. grinning smiley

According to the just announced open sale, the hardback is...

272pg thread sewn book with special uv & silk screening applications including front and back cover panels that protrude from the block of the book, a spine wrapped in black leather w/white foil text & black screen printed page edges.

"Sewn" is the important word.

So in normal domestic use it should be fine.

There will also be an extra special one coming soon but that shouldn't put you off buying a "regular" copy to actually read.
