Wow, I only have 8 copies of Exile, including 1 sealed super deluxe, and 2 sealed reissued vinyls. Most of what I've collected is on vinyl although I usually have 2 or 3 on CD as well.
For the biggest copies in my collection I seem to have a 3 way tie, I refer you to:
Some Girls, 15 copies, including 3 original (all the faces) sealed copies and one sealed CBS vinyl. I also have one sealed and one open superdeluxe copy from 2011 I think, and one of them is the orange vinyl Dutch edition. One is 'sealed' within the UMe Box Set.
15 copies of Through The Past Darkly, two original sealed octagonals (love these) several original Stereo and Mono DECCAs etc, and also a sealed clear vinyl edition.
15 copies of Beggar's and Between the Buttons as well.
I ended up getting a lot obviously, because I tried to get different versions. Mono/Stereo, London/Decca, Sealed/Unsealed. Although sometimes it was a matter of the price just being too good to be true.
A bit of a treasure trove that I can't even show anyone!

Interesting reading some of the comments after the article. I don't claim to "understand" art in the least but found it an interesting "project". Unsure in my mind if this guy is an artist or a curator/librarian/file clerk.

That's as good a reason as any, I guess. I just felt I had found a kindred spirit. I love that album but only have four or five copies of it.

This made me realise that I have 7 copies of Sticky Fingers. 5 vinyl + 2 CD.

I can't compete with 15 copies but I do have 3 versions of Rock 'n' Roll Circus.......VHS, DVD and CD.......and saw it in the cinema when it was released, but that doesn't really count!

I was wondering which is the album with more different versions (where different means, different covers, formats, song order, length, different mastering etc.)? (it must be one between Some Girls, Fingers and Exile)
