Star Star on South African LP

I'm just listening to the Red Tongue release of Goats Head Soup and came accross the censored version of Star Star, said to be taken from an South African release (of GHS?).

I don't have any SA-releases with Star Star on it (GHS, Time Waits For No-One?) so I'm curious if somebody can confirm that it's real and not a fake.

The line that was censored in the US (I bet you keep your P*ssy clean) is intact, but in every refrain it goes something like "you're a Star boom, Star boom etc." - like if a bass-drum was dubbed over the bad f*cker-word.

I know there are quite a few record-collectors here - any info?

I remember that there's a lot of info about this one in the Stones Collector's Cave a few months ago.
Look for the South African albums thread.

That is hilarious! All they did was boost the bass and duck the highs every time. It is still audible just goofed up. lol I can't imagine actually trying to listen to that at a normal volume. No bass to too much bass during the chorus..

Never heard of this. Interesting.

My Tattoo You LP from Africa has no Slave track.

Incredible !! I always wonder if the guys themselves ever hear about variations like this one . Also if any other country adopted this approach or only the South African version exists. What a crack up.

I think I had the same book!

In mine, the Ali McGraw line went, "At The Draw I Got Mad At You, for giving it to Steve McQueen".
