Two recent YouTube posts. Can't wait for the album. Thanks to the biggest US Wilko fan, Matt aka Glimmerman, for bringing these to my attention.

Good but too much harmonica and not enough guitar;we can hear Daltrey but where is Wilko?

I agree with 'not enough guitar'. I like the harmonica up front in the mix. Maybe Roger's vocals are prominent in the mix so it is more likely to get airplay. I dunno. That's for the Wilko, Roger or the producer to address. I REALLY wish Wilko would at the least play some east and west coast shows here in the states. Maybe if some of us fans here in the states could post on his Facebook page asking to play here he would. I've contacted the Grammy Museum asking that they invite him over for a Q and A/performance as pub rock is a genre they have not addressed in any of their past programs. I'm not holding my breath.

Just posted a link to this thread on Wilko's Facebook page. Hopefully he'll read it and consider some US shows.

Enjoy, you lucky people. I'm sure it'll be great. It's a while since I've seen Wilko get someone else to do the singing.

Hello,

What a f**king terrific show that was, hah-hah! I can't recall the last time that I saw so much smiling onstage: I reckon that the band enjoyed things as much as we did!

'All Right'
'Barbed Wire Blues'
'The More I Give'
'Dr Dupree'
'When I'm Gone'
'Roxette'
'Going Back Home'
'I Keep It To Myself'
'Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window?'
'Keep On Loving You'
'Some Kind Of Hero'
'Ice On The Motorway'
'Sneakin' Suspicion'
'Everybody's Carrying A Gun'
'Keep It Out Of Sight'
'All Through The City'
'I Can't Explain'
'I Keep It To Myself'

And a fun run-through of "I Can't Explain" too!

Cheers,

Simon.

Great pics Simon, thanks for sharing. I've watched some clips on YouTube and I think it was a great and joyful concert.

Hi Cristiano,

'Great and joyful' sums it up! I also recommend any folk who are in London anytime soon to take in 'Stardust' at the National Portrait Gallery, which is a collection of David Bailey's work...a few characters that you might recognise!

Saw him a couple of years ago when he was supporting Clapton--I'd assumed they'd be playing together, but Daltrey just played the opening set, and said it was the first time he'd supported anyone since the Who started. He didn't have to do it, he can't have been making much money doing it, he just loves to perform. And he was effing great! (Made me even sadder that I didn't see the Who till the post-Moon years.) Happy birthday, Roger. smiling smiley

I saw one of those Clapton/Daltrey shows. What surprised me was that he was given 45 minutes. I know it was not billed as a co-headlining event, but 45 minutes? In the back of my mind I had the hidden thought of Roger coming out and joing Clapton and do "Young Man Blues"

Me too. sad smiley I kept half-expecting him to join Clapton for one song, anyway.

I suppose 45 minutes is pretty standard for a support act, whoever it is, though I'd have been happy to hear more.

Saw EC last April and he walked on for the last song during the Wallflowers set and did The Weight. Came on wearing jeans and a blue sweatshirt and surprised everyone. Several Youtube clips out there.
