The Grand Ballroom seems like an odd venue for a concert. It looks like exactly what it sounds like - a grand hotel ballroom. I assume that it is very difficult to get tiers in there because of the low (6.1 meters?) ceiling, so is seating all flat on the carpet? Anyone ever been to a show there?

OH YEAH!!!! Going to have to extend my business trip in Singapore to leave on the 16th if I can get tickets!

Anyone have any clue how to get tickets if you live in the U.S.A.?

try sistic.com That is where all Singapore tickets are sold and you can use credit cards issued from other countries.

Doesn't show up on sistic yet.

Thanks I will try this tomorrow to see when tickets will go on sale!

Have a feeling this is going to be a tough and expensive ticket to score.

Well if it is anything like last time, tickets were not too hard to get. You get online early and there isn't as much of the bullshit with sistic. And not a lot of promo tickets already sold. I got on line and got two front row tickets for each night, just through their website. There are a lot more expats in Singapore now, but it will still be an expensive night out for most folks.

Yet seating chart and price ?

Local time 10:00am = GMT2:00am

Prices are on the Sistic site, and appear reasonable by Stones standards. About $200 to $750 (Singapore $). I wonder if they can really fit the tongue stage in that venue.

Well great , they announce 24 hours after I pay ofr non refundable flights from Auckland to Perth...just my luck. And thsi was the show I wanted, but it just may be cost prohibtive now. I understand that the venue is only 11000?

Brilliant news - gamble on staying in Singapore paid-off!

I can't find a seating plan, but I guess it will be something like this one (with standing and seating) - wording all the same as on booking site

You wouldn't have enjoyed it Doc, so it's a blessing in disguise. You've saved the airfare, you've saved yourself from being subjected to the horrors of one of the world's most boring and insipid destinations for however long you were planning on being there, so now you can happily do the sensible thing and fly to Europe in the summer .............. winking smiley

There you are you see, every cloud has a silver lining ! cool smiley

HAHHA Paulywauly you are right, I was just chatting with Beast, and she and I agreed better to save for Europe. Somehow the airline industry has risen to new levels of ridiculousness. To move my departure date from Auckland back a few days and add a jaunt to Singapore would cost me more in adjustments than just buying a whole new ticket from Auckland to Singapore to Perth to home and not using the paid for non refundable flights even though MOST of the flights would be the exact same planes! The cost of the airfare and two nights at the Marina Bay Sands will fly me round trip to Europe AND pay for at least one, probably two shows in the pit .

Curious, the sales site says the show duration is approximately 90 minutes

Could that be a corporate event for the tour sponsor? With some tickets on public sale to get the rock show feeling by bringing in some real fans.

From the pictures i found on the internet i would say that ballroom has a capacity no more than 2000. Also the 90 minute time frame reminds me of the Deutsche Bank show in 2007.

From the sistic website:

presented by Prudential and Eastspring Investments will be performing live at Marina Bay Sands in the most intimate concert of their Asian tour!

So tickets go on sale tonight here in the U.S. at 9pm here in Massachusetts which is 10am Friday in Singapore. I registered on the SISTIC website but I was wondering if anyone has ever bought tickets from them and if they offer a will call service so I can pick my tickets up at the box office the night of the show or when I get to Singapore on Saturday March 8th. Can't see them mailing them all the way to the U.S.?

I hate buying tickets in weird looking venues without a seating chart. VIP is $700 and "standing" is less, but I am assuming that standing means front of stage. But who knows, right? Also, they say packages are available, but there's nothing on the Marina Bay Sands site . . . .

Oh well, at least it's not Western Union!
