Don´t do that... oh don´t do that..oh don´t do that.
Stay with us, keefriffhards, you are such a cool guy. I would MISS YOU.
Back to topic: This new album will contain lots of stuff much greater than Trouble. We will have a lot to talk about. If it is half as good as TIC and MO, it´s still very good. Can´t wait to hear the blues and ballads.

So...where is Keith´s version of One last shot?
I'm afraid it's Slipping Away...
You're not Losing your touch, Munichhilton....
I love it when these little games happen. But I always Struggle to come up with good comments
Don't worry, this thread is already The Worst.

Someone up there asked when "Trouble" was recorded.
Apparently it originated in some form at the 2002 sessions, when it was entitled "Just Because".
Which doesn't contradict people saying this version's formative years were 2011-2013,
but it seems worth keeping afloat in the discussion of the track's history.

True. But Start Me Up was started (recorded) in 1975 but recorded again in 1977 for what would be the one we all know. And it wasn't like some other tracks where overdubs were tacked on later, like Slave and Worried About You, Sweet Virginia, Shine A Light, etc, it was a new bottom.
Trouble is clearly a new bottom and not done by the Stones. That's the point. Musically... Highwire started in the STEEL WHEELS sessions (according to Mick) but was done over in 1991.

Are you referring to the version on Tattoo You?

What are you referring to?
The overdubs for Start Me Up were completed in July 1981.

Older songs is what I said, which goes back to - I'm not saying Start Me Up isn't an older song seeing that the TATTOO YOU version is from 1977 - but what I specifically meant and pointed out were songs recorded for LET IT BLEED and STICKY FINGERS wound up on EXILE (and GOATS HEAD SOUP) with additional work done to them, just like how TATTOO YOU had songs with additional work done to them from 1972, 1975, 1977 and 1979 strictly regarding the band recording the bottoms.
Final overdubbing (percussion, saxophone, hand claps and guest backing vocals) for TATTOO YOU tracks were finished in April-June of 1981. Jagger finished is vocal overdubs in 1980, including 2 tracks that didn't make the LP, over the course of 3 days.

I like Eileen better than Trouble
...before having all the information the internet provides, I always thought Tattoo You was recorded in 1981. I dont care if the Stones or Keith are reworking tunes already in the can, as long as the vocals are newly recorded.
