famous quote about album sales from Brian Eno: "The Velvet Underground & Nico only sold 30,000 copies when it came out, but all 30,000 of those people started bands"
i feel crosseyed heart will be around for a while, not because it's at all like the VU album (!) but rather because cream does eventually rise to the top.

"Nothing On Me" sounds really good in my ears...
I favour other tracks like Heart Stopper, Robbed Blind, Suspicious, Illusion, Just a Gift, Lover´s Plea etc.
BUT
Nothing On Me
followed me night and day in my mind and ears, just after listening twice to the complete CD.
Should be the next single!!
I think it would get some pretty good attention.

There are about 10 songs he could release as the next single
But he needs to go on some shows and play the f=-=king thing to people or its a waste of time
What's wrong with him
...with a good video.

Nothing On Me seems to me as too boring to be released as a single.
The next single should be Substantial Damage.

SF would be a fun single, but maybe a little misrepresenting for how the album is?

I think he meant that Goodnight Irene ended the string of ballads that runs through the record, not the album. A bit clumsily formulated, perhaps..

The sentence goes: "Bookended by acoustic numbers -- the first is the charmingly tossed-off title track,
a song that feels clipped in its conclusion, the last a version of Lead Belly's "Goodnight Irene,"
with the lyrics slightly modified -- the album does indeed ... blah blah blah"
"Bookended by" means "starts and ends with", and he meant the album. There's nothing else he could mean.
My bah humbug stands firm.

I didn't know the last two tracks were originally meant as "bonus tracks";
I remember people who had the pre-release bootleg from the listening party said those two were listed that way,
but I (and I think everyone else) thought that was simply misinformation.
In any case it behooves a reviewer to review the whole album as released. Other reviewers got it right.
I'm not revoking my bah humbug.

Maybe Keith felt that there has to be a long respectful break between the classic Goodnight Irene and the rather rude sounding Substantial Damage?
This would be further proof of Keith´ genius.

And yet you like DIRTY WORK. This does not compute.

I just asked him, and indeed, his copy has those 2 tracks listed as bonus tracks.
