Ah, so it's as if this film could just as easily have been made in 1982 then. What are we to make of this in terms of the Stones' own perspective on their career? They are certainly roguishly proud of what they had accomplished in their first 20 years. But it appears that Crossfire Hurricane is like any one of their concert setlists--lots of time spent on the early years and barely a nod to what they have done since then.
So, the 50 years of Rolling Stones can be summed up thusly: 20 years creating the legacy, 30 years merely celebrating that legacy.
