born in El Paso... lived there almost 2 years.
still I like to think I'm a Texan...

Where did you live after almost two years? And why would you like to think you're still a Texan?

we moved a lot- military. Savannah GA, Huntsville AL, Salina KS, Izmir, Turkey, Fayetteville, NC...,

drifted on down to New Orleans where my luck it was to be employed...

Wow. Where in NOLA?

worked on a fishing boat right outside of Delacroix...

For some reason I thought that was a Bob Dylan lyric...

MightyStonesStillRollin50, do you wet your pants every time you post on here? Do you get boners? Do you go into convulsions? Are you so excited that you can't stop farting?

I must confess, the whole Rolling Stones Experience is highly orgasmic in nature. Glad I can share it with millions of others who feel exactly as I do.

Wait a cotton pickin' minute. Now you're talkin' Peter Frampton. You need to keep your job in your cubicle and leave this place for the fans.

Waiting for Mick.
Keith looks good.We are three guys waiting.

First we had real-time concert updates on IORR...now studio recording updates? We're living in the future.

Isn't it wonderful! Were in Stones Heaven!

and now where are you?

Crap, to think this is or is even remotely near to Stones Heaven is slightly more then depressing. What is Stones purgatory like?

Any MightyRollin50 thread...

You say that, but your actions speak louder than your words. They always do.

I wonder of M&K have been doing any writing together.

They were pre-writing together.

What, is that like faxing each other chord changes?

They really are there, relaxed, enjoying cafés, ice creams and perrier without ice on the terrasses of Suresnes. And recording, of course.

They all look great. No Bill Wyman, Darryl Jones is there. Don Was too. No Mick Taylor.

If they really do call it Fifty Licks and include whatever amount of new songs on it...

1. do they replace the previous 'new' songs?
2. let's hope they replace the previous new songs if that is what they're doing
3. really, though, they shouldn't bother with new songs with a hits comp again. They've already done that. If they can't bother with a new LP then they really have become the Beach Boys of before '012.

The best idea would be a 2-disc set, since it'll likely contain '50' licks, and they should do what Macca did with the Wingspan comp--one disc with the hits, the other disc for deep cuts/lesser known gems, all remastered of course.

I wonder of M&K have been doing any writing together.

What Keith mentioned in interviews earlier this year regarding new material was that there were numerous outtakes and ideas left over from ABB, so this could be what will be presented for new material.

This thread is now on the IORR News page. Does that make it official? Is bv confirming that there will be 50th anniversary gigs later this year?

Great news, I'd kinda given up hope and was just expecting a few re-hashed box sets, tv progs and books. It really does seem as though there may be real activity. I'm not familiar with that studio so can't comment on if it is more suitable for recordings or rehearsing...or both! Even better news is that there is no Chuck Leavell....yet!

Looks like it's Jane Rose, his manager. Well this is a nice birthday surprise for me! I am also surprised there isn't a little more enthusiasm here, it looks like they might actually be doing something.

You will get nothing but sarcasm and cynicism from these people. I am hopeful that this means they are making a new CD and in preparation for a world tour.
