the couple didn't give me their definition, unfortunately, duke...i'll be sure to enquire at the next oppo....

"sure to enquire "

enquire - is that a new take on 'inquire' ?

Both spellings are valid

Now this line-up bugs me...same old, same old. For their 50th Anniversary recordings, I expect something different - Bill Wyman,Mick Taylor, Mac, a challenging producer. I still hope that we won't get any generic, uninspired stuff like those new songs on 40 Licks.

Stop expecting and be grateful they are even bothering to be together in a studio. Haven't you been reading this thread?!? How could you expect anything more than what they did for Licks? Granted, that did not turn out well but it did give them something to do and they even managed to play of of them on the tour. Nobody knows what they're doing. It may be tracks for some new comp - I hope not. That's just bad. To repeat themselves is just...not cool. They really should just do a single.

All too true, but this "grateful that they are doing anything at all"-thing does not work for me!

Plus, I hope that the presence of Keith's watchdog Jane Rose does not prevent a genuine heartfelt collaboration between him and Mick.

I was being slightly sarcastic.

I went this afternoon to the 20 rue de la Belle Gabrielle, no sign of presence, no limousines. It was certainly not the best time for a visit.

Whose the women holding the dog

Jane Rose

OLDKR

How dependent Keith is of that woman? Can he even visit a recording studio without her at help? And if they were there, like playing or making music or something, what exactly she has to do there? Taking care of the interest of his client, like Jagger is not bossing too much, or what?

- DOxa

She's there to 'assist' with the more simple things - having the dog(s) taken care of, hotel rooms, transportation, etc.

I highly doubt she's IN the room whilst they're recording/working. She's his manager.

Do we have any information about the dog, like race and name?

All I know is it ain't the human race and the dog has been known to answer to any name (as long as you have a cookie in your hand).

Maltese Terrier - Name: Ruby Tuesday (Yes, really. Look it up on Google!)

I wonder where Keith came up with that name - Ruby Tuesday. I would look it up, but I only get Yahoo where I live!

If they really do call it Fifty Licks and include whatever amount of new songs on it...

1. do they replace the previous 'new' songs?
2. let's hope they replace the previous new songs if that is what they're doing
3. really, though, they shouldn't bother with new songs with a hits comp again. They've already done that. If they can't bother with a new LP then they really have become the Beach Boys of before '012.

For the new compilation, I reckon we'll get 46 oldies and 4 new tracks. One will be released as a download single and performed on stage, whilst the other 3 will be forgotten a week after release. I'm PUMPED!>grinning smiley<

I hope in 5 new tracks:40 Licks 36 oldies and 4 new tracks...50 Licks 45 oldies and 5 new tracks!I think that it will be a problem with the 45 oldies...If in 40 Licks there were 36 oldies and in the next ten years only a couple of "Hits"(Streets of love,Rain fall down(!?!)...Don't stop(!?!)..)They must find 6/7 Hits for the Compilation!
Anyway, I hope that this will be only the starting point...I hope that the "Boys" enjoy themselves in the studio and little by little a new studio album is ready!!

Anyone think this is a "Beatles Anthology" type studio meet up where someone plays the old tapes back and we hear various vocals/instruments and Charlie says "what album was that one" and Mick says "Beggars Banquet.. Charlie Watts... foremost Rolling Stones expert"?
