LOL, I guess. That stuff is all mostly an easy money maker for them, i.e. they make millions more and continue with resting on their laurels ... I would give most of those back for a legit studio album or two. Still, I do enjoy and listen to all of them!

You can add these releases to the list:

Charlie is my Darling;
GRRR! (deluxe edition);
The Singles 1971-2006 (45 CDs);
Live at Checkerboard Lounge 1981.

Yes I agree the era is rich with releases of special and live versions of their arguably best performances and songs.

But like LeonidP, I would trade 'em all for 2 studio records of the quality of the ones that made all these releases viable in the first place. Absolutely no expectations of that happening though so I'm grateful for whatever we get.

Now I want some archive releases live from 1989-2003, there were many interesting shows recorded in fabulous quality those years which should see the light of day.
I mean the new Marquee release has dull and dry yet clear audio, plus a subpar performance. Why even bother releasing it? I will never watch it again. Give me a 2002 club show instead!

I say 1963-2012 was their best release period.

Was their biggest gap release wise 1998-2002? Seems like it. Can't think of any other time longer without a release.

Best period for re-releases more like.

As for releases, this 6-year time frame has seen the release of only 2 songs, or 4 if you count Plundered and Following The River. Then there's a live album of Hyde Park I suppose.

Otherwise, I'd have to go for best period of releases as 1963-1983, and only two other bands can claim as long as a prime period for (new) releases.

Uh, well, 1998 was NO SECURITY and 2002 was FORTY LICKS so... 3 calendar years for sure - 99, 00, 01 - with nothing...

<<No Spare Parts was issued as a single...>>

I would still count a "release" as something new, something that wasn't previously available as a bootleg for several decades.

The only thing i could think of was Mick and Keith's performance was released in The Concert for NYC in 2001.

It's a release, the same as Plundered, Following The River, Doom And Gloom and One More Shot, regardless of being available as a bootleg for several decades. And just how many people know that it was a boot? Not a lot.
