i think mick pulled the plug on SH because he did not want to be the one that
killed the stones. when the stones have found their natural end, only then will
we know what mick has in mind. maybe SH, maybe not, we'll see.

I wanted to say about the same as superrevvy. The future will show us but I think this 50th anniversary - it's the last thing that Mick does with the Stones

even keith has said that. "one last bash".

You may be right on that...but I don't think MJ is planning this to be his 'new band'...an ongoing 'side project' at best.

It's absolutely trolling, I mean amazing, that this troll, er, thread, is still trolling on - AGHT - going on.

It's extraordinary, isn't it?
I wonder what does it mean?

It means a few people have a inherent interest in extremely boring music.

Skippy...I've started a thread called THERAPY THREAD, [www.iorr.org]
Where I invite you to come and purge some of your teenage angst.

Just curious: Has SuperHeavy ever performed together in front of a paying audience? I mean the whole group.

I have to laugh at this whole SuperHeavy thing. Nothing more than a vehicle to keep Mick in the news and build momentum towards the Stones 50th anniversary tour. Nice little side show.

I thought that too. Which is why I got so pissed off at Mick.

But I don't think that anymore.

Mostly because SuperHeavy got me unstuck in time. I can still go back and enjoy
the past anytime I want. But I'm no longer stuck there.

Not that I was anywhere near as stuck as many of you. But still, somewhat stuck,
and now freed up.

Yes,skippy's new name is brillaintly awful....As our his posts as they have always been.

While I wasn't aware that was Skipstone's new moniker, the man has always been one of many shining lights here. His posts are often a welcome tonic to the drudgery of the outside world.

Damn with faint praise, assent with civil leer,
And without sneering, teach the rest to sneer;
Willing to wound, and yet afraid to strike,
Just hint a fault, and hesitate dislike.

The only thing real about is it is how I earn a living. Other than that I'd rather be lost in fantasy.

i always meant to post these lyrics from dave stewart's recent album about
how the rolling stones lead him to the blues, just like many of us...

Well I remember Jessie Mae

And I remember, how she used to wail

Back in Junior’s yard

It was so so long ago

Well I remember Mississippi John Hurt

His finger picking nails

All covered in dirt

Down in Avalon

Well it was so so long ago

You all gave it to me

I could feel it in my bones

I just needed to see

Past the rolling stones

R.L. Burnside in the afternoon

Jumper on the line

Well he taught me that tune

With a little white lightning

That was so so long ago

Now Junior Kimbrough’s Electric

Juke Joint

Junior I love you

All night long

Now the Juke Joint’s gone

‘Cause that was so so long ago

You all gave it to me

I could feel it in my bones

I just needed to see

Past the rolling stones

Well I’ve got a mountain

So high to climb

Gotta use my rhythm

Gonna use my rhymes

But I should have stayed

On the road so long ago

But I should have stayed

On the road so long ago

speaking of getting back with the gangstas, please allow me to editorialize:
you too joss! no offense, dave, and i got no problem at all with you going
back to do the kind of bluesy stuff you could not do with the eurhythmics because
of commercial constraints and fan expectations, but please kindly leave joss
out of it. turn the girl loose!

joss stone featuring nas, "governmentalist"

hey get your rockks off with the brilliant superheavy cd,will make you dance, cry and sad at the same time as the cd has so much good music, most of the stones fans are missing jagger's good music as they do not like jagger playing with another musician or another band, get a life and move on just as STONES music has moved on.
KEEP ON ROCKING,AND KEEP THE MUSIC ALIVE.

I still like it. And the more I play it, the more I like it. My favourite song is still Common Ground. Actually, playing it right now.

Etymological Note. CAUTION: Mature content, may be deemed offensive by some.

I made this crude post yesterday. then just now I wondered about the phrase "fcuk me
blind jesus", and so have now researched it. "fcuk me blind" seems to have been in our
language for quite some time, meaning essentially "wow". "fcuk me jesus" seems to be
a more recent addition, most notably used as the title of an infamous 1991 black metal
song, in which I think it was meant to be taken literally. But it too, in conversation, has
come to mean more or less "wow".

But what about "fcuk me blind jesus" (which I also intended as "wow" )? Had I coined
a phrase, live and in person on IORR?

Turns out: almost! The only other occurence of the phrase, also with the meaning "wow",
was on January 29, 2012 on Craigslist. Damn, I came within one month of being the
inventor! My mom will almost be so proud.

The only remaining issue is whether it is properly interpreted as "fcuk me blind, jesus"
or "fcuk me, blind jesus". As the almost-inventor, I say: although the former is the preferred
usage, the latter is also acceptable as the slightly humorous alternative. Because, y'know,
Jesus could cure blindness, so him being blind is kinda, y'know, funny. At least to some
twisted individuals. Of which I am certainly not one!
