Which songs by Bo Diddley did the Stones record? I only know the Buddy Holly cover of Not Fade Away is ibviously inspired by Diddley. I've seen the footage from the kurhaus riots that is featuring a sweet Diddley groove, can't figure out which song it is though.
Rolling Stones Bo Diddley Covers Pretty Thing, You Can't Judge A Book By The Cover, Crackin' Up (Live BBC 7/23/64 & El Mocambo 3/4/77), Road Runner, Doing The Crawdaddy (Live), Mona, Who Do You Love? (Live 11/25/94)
Don't let that "Nanker;Phelge" credit fool you, it's a Bo Diddley song. [en.wikipedia.org]
I still have the original vinyl lp, it is a very good live album, great version of "Roadrunner"! This lp has just been released on cd by Hip O Select, every Diddley fan should have a copy of this. [www.amazon.com]
Don't forget Diddley Daddy. I like the NME video where Charlie introduces I'm Alright as a Bo Diddley number and Mick, smiling, looks over to Charlie and yells What?!
I only knew a few Bo songs until a few years ago and I picked up the Chess Boxed (2CD's) set. I highly recommend this set - it might be a little hard to find but well worth it! Bo really had some pretty cool stuff.
For those interested, Hipo-Select has released a few newer boxed sets that are also 2 CD's each and are covering his complete 50's output and early 60's.
