Almost unfair, there are too many Dylan and Beatles albums from the 1960's let alone ones by the Stones.

Probably Beggars, but England's Newest is certainly definitive.

Interestingly I just did a continuous listen of all the Beatles albums last weekend, in reverse order...I was surprised in that I did end up thinking Abbey Road was the best, followed by Rubber Soul and Revolver, then White Album then Sgt. Pepper.

To me what was most interesting was how good that first album was, Please Please Me, and how boring the 1964/65 albums really were, Help, Hard Days Night, Beatles for Sale, but for a few choice cuts.

I found Rolling Stones 2 and OOOH's much more entertaining than the Beatles counterparts from the same time period.

did you play them backwards, too? that's really the most realistic way of listening to records in the reverse order.

I just got a new stylus and didn't want to wreck it.

What if I just listen to them in chronological order next time...isn't that the same effect?

probably. sometimes i like to play them from the inside out. but you do need a special stylus for that....

right right! I know about those...they're a bit bigger, used for 78 RPM shellac records...they tear at the vinyl a bit, allowing you to listen to them from the inside.

What a fab idea! Especially for listening to fab four!
